Attention Members who border-bounce (to either activate a new entry on a multi-entry visa OR to get a new visa exempt entry stamp)

The land border between Thailand and Cambodia at Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet is now requiring people stay IN Cambodia 24 hours before letting you stamp back in to thailand. This is a fairly new policy BUT there are enough verified reports on the inter-web..

I would say IF you need to bounce use either the Ban Laem border with Cambodia OR if you're NOT South African or Russian bounce at the Phu Nam Ron border with Myanmar in Kanchanaburi province.

Remember the unlimited visa exempt entry program approved by the thai cabinet HAS NOT been implemented yet. <- meaning right now people from 44 countries still only can do TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31).

Good Luck,

TLDR : Answer Summary
Members are advised about new border policies for re-entering Thailand from Cambodia, noting that travelers must stay in Cambodia for at least 24 hours at the Aranyaprathet-Poi Pet border. Alternate recommendations include the Ban Laem border and the Phu Nam Ron border for those not from South Africa or Russia. Additionally, the unlimited visa exempt entry program has not yet been implemented, thus individuals from 44 countries can only utilize two 30-day visa exempt entries per calendar year.

@Lu***
you should be okay at Ban Pakard :)

Let's check though and ask a member who runs people to the border with their company every day.
@Amornrat *********
any problem bouncing out and back in the same day at the Ban Pakard / Phsa Prum border?

I aware of the location of Sadao - roughly and hour from Hat Yai.

I want to border bounce in Cambodia because I’m on Koh Chang but I have never done a bounce there and have heard horror stories.

As long as you're NOT using the Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet border you should be able to bounce.

Where are you in thailand and what is your nationality?

oh do you happen to know when the unlimited visa exempt entry program will be implemented? sounds too good to be true...
Robert *******
it all depends on the officer. Good luck.

@Robert ******
hmm ok... so as long as i can show money...still seems unbelievable hah but good information thank you. I think it all depends on the officer ultimately.

If you have a Russian passport you get a 30 day Admitted to stay due to the bilateral agreement between Russia and Thailand. There is no limit on how many times you can enter Thailand using the agreement, but as this stay is employment prohibited the times comes that an Immigration Officer is going to ask questions how you can afford to travel and live long time in Thailand without being engaged in any work or profession.

Amornrat Mattioli isnt it two exempt entries per year?, same as everyone, i have no knowledge of unlimited for anyone, that seems too good to be true. I was questioned at airport for this already once so i don't think it's unlimited..
Amornrat **********
Russian are unlimited since years.

I never advise anybody to use Aranyaphet border to enter Thailand.Most risky border.Laos land borders are best to cross without any problem...

Hello, just using this post since I see information that can be used for my question. How can I know the borders that people from 90 days visa except can use? I plan tu use Ban Laem in 2 days.
Amornrat **********
AFAIK not possible at border around Bangkok, their reasoning is that you stay here 90 days already.

Wait, unlimited visa exempt!? Is that something that’s likely to happen?

With politics, there's always lots of talk, little action. I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch if I were you

There is only a limit for 54 countries by land borders. So do not really understand why you get excited.

Just a heads up, NONE of the 5 countries that get 90 day visa exempt entries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and South Korea) can bounce out and back in at the Phu Nam Ron border. They just don't allow it there.
