I have read somewhere that the first 90-day report on the 1-year extension of stay for retirement needs to be done in person, only the following 90-day reporting can be done online. Is this correct?

We can go to Immigration, but we’re on Phangan and have to take the ferry to Samui, right now a bit of a hassle.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The first 90-day report for a one-year extension of stay for retirement in Thailand must be done in person, while subsequent reports can be completed online. Some users suggest contacting immigration to check if mail submission is an option.

It is what it is, you have to do one 90 day report in person to get into the data based before the online system will work.

I would call them and see if you can post it to them. Most offices allow 90 day reporting by mail if you post mark it 15 days before
