BORDER BOUNCE

We do NOT allow people to post asking WHERE to border bounce (exit/re-enter by land to get a new visa exempt entry stamp or to activate another entry on a valid multi-entry visa). :/

The reason we don't allow it is because the answer is usually related to where you are IN thailand.

Obviously in Chiang Mai you're not gonna bounce at the Malay border in the south and if you're in Koh Phangan you're not gonna bounce at the Chiang Khong border in Chiang Rai.

IF you want to know of a border to bounce out and back on near where you are OR want to know a service provider that runs people to from the border post on a f/b group related to where you stay in thailand. Believe me when I say you are far from the only foreigner in that are who needs to bounce.

Things to tell any service provider you contact for a bounce out and back are; your nationality, your entry date to thailand & your stay history (covid/ED/Volunteer visa/extensions) <- those things affect bouncing to a large degree.

Also keep in mind unless your entry/stay history is an exact match to someone who reported a successful, uneventful, easy bounce out and back you might NOT have the same experience. :O Your mileage may vary . .. greatly :/

Remember visa exempt entry (52 countries) and visa waiver entry (6 countries) are for 45 days by land or air until March 31st 2023

As a side note; we will let posts on when people ask about a consulates in S/E Asia for a specific visa when they state their nationality <- because not every nationality is treated the same at the consulates :/

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post emphasizes the community rules against asking where to border bounce in Thailand for visa purposes. It explains that location is crucial for identifying appropriate border points and advises individuals to provide specific personal details when seeking service providers for border bounces. Additionally, it notes the current timeline for visa-exempt entries, which are valid until March 31, 2023, and allows discussions regarding consulate-related inquiries specific to nationalities.

Trying to give CASE SPECIFIC advice here on where and how to border bounce would be impossible and not ethical.

@Dannie **************
there are many variables. Ask your local area expat Facebook forums for their recommendations and experiences.

@James *******
Yes, and there is not enough time and space here to delve into all the specific variables to give any accurate answer.

As you pointed out, the leading information may be found elsewhere on local forums, but as we all know there are no guarantees.
Troy *******
What do you mean by "until March 31" - is something expected to change dramatically on April 1st?
James ********
@Troy ******
Visa Exempt Entry is 45 days stamp thru March 31 2023... As of April 1 it's reverting to usual 30 day stamp.
Kevin ***********
@Troy ******
The change in Visa Exemption to 45 days from 30 days was only until March 31st. Anyone's guess if they choose to leave it in place.

@Troy ******
It may well revert back to the normal 30 days

oh okay... So yeah, nothing dramatic. 555

@Troy ******
, 45 days for free entries are a temporary measure until 31 March 2023. Then Visa-exempt and visa-waiver entry that are for 45 days now will be back to 30 days entry stamp

Excellent advice as usual.
