I posted this a good while ago but it goes over the difference between a "visa run" and a "border-bounce".

Roberto since Dec 31st, 2016 they went back to 30 day visa exempt entries by land AND that was when they put the limit of two in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)

Just to complete your excellent information Tod, would you confirm that the border-bounce visa will run for 30 days and that the procedure is allowed only twice per calendar year? Thanks
