TLDR : Answer Summary
A person on a tourist visa who is married to a Thai citizen and has a child can consider applying for a 60-day family extension based on the marriage. Following this, if they meet the proof of funds requirement (400,000 baht in a Thai bank account in their name), they may apply for a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage, which can eventually lead to a year extension based on the marriage.

That's correct, or to get a one year extension of stay based on raising a half-thai child (same financial requirements though).

If you get the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family (like I got today) you can stay until around November 25.

You can apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension based on marriage to a thai (there are no proof of funds for this extension)

THEN

if you meet the proof of funds (400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only transferred in from abroad) you could apply for an in country 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage, and after that you could get a year extension based on marriage

I’m in Pattani and there is an emigration office here, you think I’d be able to do that here or would I have to go to Bangkok to obtain an extension based on marriage?
