That's great news

I dont need to go tomorrow now because my existing visa dont end until 10th October so I'll use up this one first

I just renewed my 1st extension after my Sandbox program and got 60 days extension until 25th November at Amnat Charoen immigration office. 1,900 baht plus a 800 baht fine for not informing the immigration of my address within 24 hours after leaving Phuket...ah well shit happens. Still, I'm here for 60 days and not just the 30 days I expected. So I'm happy 👍

So you did not have to first use the 3à day "usual" extension. you could extend directly with the covid extension for 60 days?

Also when was your visa suppose to end?

great !!

...I just went to the Immigration office with my Passport and the T6 form and they automatically give me 60 day extension stamped in my passport. My original 45 day exemption on arrival in Phuket Airport expires on 26th of September and my new 60 day extension expires on the 25th November....Happy days....altogether I got 105 days for 1,900 baht👍🇹🇭👍

@Stephen ***********
What is the T6 form? I googled it it says it is the departure card you get when you arrive in Thailand.

@Wei ***
...It is a form you get given by the airline crew and fill out on the plane before you land. It is very important to complete as it is usually stapled to your entry stamp in your passport.

Sometimes the airline crew dont hand them out depends on the the airline you fly with, Singapore Airlines always give them out an hour before landing but you will be given one at arrival at Phuket anyways

Of course if was. It cannot go / run out before the country is fully (i.e without any quarantine) reopened. Glad someone understands that amongst Thai decision-makers as well.

And you know this how exactly? consulted your crystal balls or what?

They could have easily discontinued the program whether the country is open without quarantine or not.

People can LEAVE thailand, they're not trapped here in the least..

@Tod ********
Really? This old (false) argument again? It was NEVER a requirement of the COVID extension to proof unable to LEAVE. The mere fact the general pandemic / covid situation was still ongoing has been reason enough to get a covid extension. Even forms for it were worded as such. And there have always been flights out of Thailand throughout the entire pandemic. So that is that. You of all people should know that. And the rest isn’t as much about a crystal ball, but about understanding economics and politics. In the current situation, where there is no notable influx of tourists into an economy that is highly dependent on tourism: every foreign money spender already in country is highly welcome + the industry would get even more angry at the politicians if they forced even those few spenders out that are already here. All common sense really.

Hello if my TR 60 day visa end on Sept 23, can I benefit from the 60 day covid extension or do I first have to use my reguler 30 day extension?
Frédéric ******************
@Wei ***
Covid extension was made for travelers who don't have any other choices. So of course you should use the normal extension first.

@Frédéric ****************
is this a requirement i dont have the choice?

@Wei ***
just logic. Why would you need a special treatment if you're still allowed to stay in Thailand under standard rules?
