TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, your friend can apply for another 60-day Covid extension at the immigration office a few weeks before their current stamp expires on March 28. The application for the extension must be made by March 5, as the current Covid extension program is available until March 30.

Jomtien attached a note inside the previous covid extension advising applications must be made by 5th March if you want another 60 days from end of March.

i was taking a queue for something else in the jomtien immigration while two people were getting back their passport due to the covid 60d extension and they got the same note (didn't get what date they refer tho). I wondering if your previous extension expire for example on April 6 and they allowed you to extend on march 30 to stay in the limit, are the 60 days counted from april 6 or march 30th? Thanks

We don't know :( If that immigration office is making up their own rules, who knows what that date means. My opinion: Follow what's on the date.

but for those who previously did in bangkok where as i understad you can show up weeks before the expiration, the +60 days start when the actual extension end or from the date you request it even if a previous extension is tecnically still on?

That depends on the Immigration office if they add the next covid extension to your current stamp, or start counting on the day of application. And so far it seems to be unknown for sure to this group that how Jomtien immigration office does with it. For sure, you have to ask YOUR local immigration office.

that's not correct (not that they didn't put that note in BUT the whole premise)

In theory a person could show up on March 30th and apply for another 60 day covid extension if they wanted to

I think that's Jomtien making up their own policy and because people won't stand up to them they take it at face value.

yes correct, it’s them trying to avoid the queues of applications just b4 deadline.

he can go to the immigration office and apply for another 60 day covid extension a couple weeks before this current stamp he has expires.

The 60 day covid extension program right now runs until the 30th of March <- that's the last day you can apply for one.

thank you Tod. As the 28th is on a Sunday, I guess he will have to go for the extension on the Friday. Does that mean he will lose those two days, and the 60 days will begin on the 26th?

@Gaynor ******
he'll not lose 3 days - Friday 26th is a holiday

he's going from a covid extension to another covid extension <- meaning you don't lose any time applying early. He can go any time now, they add that new covid 60 day extension to the old covid extension stamp expiration he has.

thank you very much. You are very knowledgeable and extremely appreciated.

In your opinion, do you think they will continue with these Covid stamps while the situation remains as it is?

Sorry
@Gay***
, I personally don't have the slightest idea if the covid extension program will be extended or not. :/

Tell your friend to watch the news like every other foreigner who is on them and see what happens close to the end of March when this program ends.
