I had an approved DTV visa, which I applied for in Ho Chi Minh City. However, when I entered Thailand, immigration noticed that my DTV had a typo in the passport number, it didn’t match the number on my actual passport.
As a result, I was granted a tourist visa on arrival. The immigration officers at the airport were unsure how to resolve the issue.
Earlier today, I emailed the Thai embassy that issued the visa, and I’ve also scheduled an appointment with the Thai embassy in Bangkok later this week. I’m looking for any advice or information on how best to proceed.
My apologies, my previous post wasn’t clear. It’s been a hectic day. Thanks for the advice.
I will be doing a third entry in Thailand in about 3 months this in total, would you recommend getting a safe entry service?
I’ve seen posts of people being rejected all the time here with visa exemptions.
Here is my recent travel history:
• First entry into Thailand: June 5th to July 16th (total: 42 days)
• Trip to Indonesia: July 16th to July 23rd
• Second entry into Thailand: July 23rd to August 13th (total: 21 days)
• Now traveling to the Philippines: August 13th to August 30th
I plan to return to Thailand on August 30th and stay for another 60+30 days, but I’m concerned because it would be my third entry in under three months, even though the total time spent in Thailand is around 63 days.
Just thinking of my future starting next year visiting Thailand. If I stay 1 month next June then wanted to stay 3 months starting December 26, what visa would I need, if any (from the UK)? I would then plan to return June 27, so basically 2 visits a year
I’m having to leave Thailand because my Non-B visa couldn’t be transferred in time due to a missing document from my employer. While still in Thailand, immigration told me I had to leave the country to do a border run and return on a tourist visa to restart the Non-B visa process.
This will be my first time entering Thailand on a tourist visa exempt on arrival, as I haven’t used one this year. Today, I’m flying from Thailand to Vientiane, Laos (VTE airport) via Lao Airlines. I had everything prepared for the visa on arrival: 2,000 baht in cash and a passport photo, ready before check-in at the airline counter.
However, Lao Airlines refused to issue my already paid-for ticket unless I showed them an additional 10,000 baht in cash. I’ve never heard of this requirement before.
I’m scheduled to return to Thailand on the same airline from VTE. Has anyone experienced this before? Has anyone had problems flying back to Thailand from VTE with Lao Airlines?
Hey all, I’m planning of snowbirding every winter (November to May) in Thailand on a yearly basis (given that I like the first year, which I’m sure I will but you never know!)
I’m Canadian living in Canada right now but am looking for advice on DTV, I have the $15k for 3+ months proof requirement. Is this the biggest hurdle I am to expect with trying to apply or is there more? I can always come as a tourist and border hop this year if I face issues, wondering what other digital nomads are doing.
Lastly, my girlfriend is not a remote freelancer like me, but she does have the 15k evidence in her account. How do you guys typically deal with partners for these types of plans?
I don’t want any trouble with Thailand and border hopping is just as a temporary resort while I get things in order for the long run, but I do prefer options that have 0 risk.
