Ed Alchin posted i will have an OA multiple entry which thanks to you and Rob i understand fairly well now.

ASAP in country I will get a “Residence Permit” and then before the year of the OA is finished convert to 1 year O multiple entry based in marriage. According to the website criteriab I believe that being the holder of a residence permit puts ne in the position I will not be required to leave the country every 90 days but report only to local Imm office. Correct ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has an OA multiple entry visa and plans to obtain a Residence Permit in Thailand. They believe this will allow them to report to the local immigration office instead of leaving every 90 days. However, commenters clarify that the OA visa cannot be converted to a one-year O visa based on marriage, and the user will need to follow specific procedures to extend their stay.

25 Oct you posted you got a brand new Non Immigrant O-A visa in your passport. This visa is multiple entry, means you can leave and come to Thailand as much as you like until the Valid until or Enter Before date, possible 23 Oct 2020, mentioned on the visa. Enjoy this visa first and when needed contact us again, maybe rules about the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage are changed during the 2 years of stay you can get out of this visa

Hmmmm, cant get a one year O mased on marriage in HCM or another country close by ?

Can you get a one year extension on that O based on marriage ? Or you get an extension every 90 days for ever and ever ?

you could go buy a year long multi-entry Non-O from one of the consulates that sell it in the area but you asked about getting the yearly extension after the O-A so I told you to just go get a 90 day single entry and then extend it in the country by showing the proof of funds.

If you are getting a year-long, multi-entry Non-immigrant Type O-A visa from a thai consulate in your country BEFORE you come here you will get stamped in for a year every time you enter the country.

IF you exit and re-enter the country BEFORE the visa expires you will get another year entry stamp <- letting you stay TWO years on a visa that is good for a year.

You CANNOT convert that to ANY O visa, AND you can't get a year extension on that visa type because you're married to a thai.

You either get a year extension based on being over 50 and by meeting the financial requirements based on retirement.

OR

You leave the country after you get the two years out of that visa and BUY a new 90 day Non-O based on marriage and apply for an extension off of that
