On the 6 month METV, it is advantageous to apply for it as close to when you're traveling as you can
that's because the 6 month validity of the visa starts counting down the day the visa is issued. So if you get it too early you burn the validity of the visa without being in thailand.
I'd say apply when you're about 30 days from your trip. Take your time on the eVisa application, get everything filled out correctly, check the data and the uploads you submit and it should go smoothly
Onward travel isn't required on the TDAC, leave it blank
Just print the PDF of the visa, and make sure you fill out the online TDAC (no need to print it as they can see at passport control if you filed one or not)
Dunno what you mean about your TM30, <- seeing as you have to be IN thailand and at an address where you're staying to file one
IF you're on a visa/extension that requires 90 day reporting and you're in thailand for 90 days you report
IF you leave thailand before the 90 day report due date, you don't report and when you return to the country your next 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you stamp in.
A single re-entry just means you can exit/re-enter one time
So if you needed to leave again during your extension you'd need to buy another re-entry permit ๐
A multiple re-entry permit lets you exit/re-enter the country as many times as you want during the extension it's issued for.
The price of the multiple re-entry; 3800baht means unless you're going to exit/re-enter at least 4 times during the year, there's not much reason to get one because a single re-entry is just 1000baht each time, so two trips would be just 2000baht total
You can buy a re-entry permit at the immigration office where you got your extension or at the airport before you fly out
They could apply for a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa, from the thai consulate in their country before they wing their way here. That will give them unlimited 60 day entries during the 6 months the visa is valid for. They could get close to 9 months stay in country (in 60-90 day increments) out of that visa
All they did was submit the documents you gave them for you (rather than you doing it) Their job ended when the visa application was approved
*You're responsible for filing a TM30 (if you choose to do so) to show you're registered as staying where you are in thailand,
*You're responsible for filing a 90 day report (first one due 89 days after you stamp in to the country),
*You're responsible to go to the immigration office and apply for a 180 day extension (should you go that route rather than just fly out/back to get a new 180 day entry stamp)
Pretty much everything from here on out for the next 5 years once you got the visa approved and printed the PDF (which as the officer pointed out when you stamped in IS your visa ๐ ) is all on you 100%
when they transfer stamps to the new passport they transfer the WHOLE history (original entry, any previous extensions, and the current extension you're on)
That's why stamp transfers usually take a couple passport pages
