I leave Thailand tomorrow and donโt plan on leaving the country again during the rest of my visa extension but there might be an emergency situation - who knows.
If I get a single re-entry does that mean I have no more chances to leave on my current visa?
Who is the multiple re-entry for? Frequent flyers?
Thanks ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns regarding re-entry permits in Thailand. The user inquires about the implications of obtaining a single re-entry permit, specifically whether it limits further exits on their current visa extension. Comments clarify that a single re-entry allows one exit and re-entry, but does not preclude additional trips with new permits. A multiple re-entry permit, which is cost-effective for frequent travelers, grants unlimited exits and entries during the extension periodโideal for expats who travel frequently.
A single re-entry just means you can exit/re-enter one time
So if you needed to leave again during your extension you'd need to buy another re-entry permit ๐
A multiple re-entry permit lets you exit/re-enter the country as many times as you want during the extension it's issued for.
The price of the multiple re-entry; 3800baht means unless you're going to exit/re-enter at least 4 times during the year, there's not much reason to get one because a single re-entry is just 1000baht each time, so two trips would be just 2000baht total
You can buy a re-entry permit at the immigration office where you got your extension or at the airport before you fly out
fantastic information ๐ thanks so much. Iโve been here 18 years and always got a multiple because Iโm scared to get it wrong ๐๐ But now Iโve found a reliable source โฆ never again!
