What is the difference between a single and multiple re-entry permit for Thailand?

Many expats woild leave Thailand more than once every 12 months to explore the region, or travel home. Multiple entry is for them.

𝗜𝗳 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲-𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮?

Nope doesn't mean that at all,

A single re-entry just means you can exit/re-enter one time

So if you needed to leave again during your extension you'd need to buy another re-entry permit 🙂

A multiple re-entry permit lets you exit/re-enter the country as many times as you want during the extension it's issued for.

The price of the multiple re-entry; 3800baht means unless you're going to exit/re-enter at least 4 times during the year, there's not much reason to get one because a single re-entry is just 1000baht each time, so two trips would be just 2000baht total

You can buy a re-entry permit at the immigration office where you got your extension or at the airport before you fly out
