I'm flying to Vietnam to get a DTV visa at the end of the month. It turns out there's a holiday there and the embassy is closed. How much will this affect the online visa issuance?

If I apply for a DTV in Vietnam while traveling around Asia and happen to be in Cambodia (or any other country besides Thailand) when it’s approved, is that acceptable? I’m aware of the interview requirement and understand the risks, but I can always take a flight back to Vietnam for the interview if necessary. I’ve been trying to find information about this on the official DTV websites, but I haven’t seen anything stating that I need to remain in Vietnam until the visa is approved.

I’ve also read comments in this group comparing this process to the walk-in visas (before the system moved online). However, in my opinion, they’re completely different. With walk-in visas, you had to wait to pick up the visa at the embassy, whereas with the online system, everything is handled and issued digitally. So, it’s not exactly the same.

Hi everyone,

I have all the requirements for the DTV soft power Muay Thai. I plan on flying in on the 12 evening and going to the embassy in the 13th. I scrolled though a lot of the recent Taiwan post amd just wamt to make sure it’s ok to do walk ins amd just bring the hard copies? Also if anyone has any recommendations of hotels nearby the Thai embassy

Thank you all for you time in advance.

Hi all :)

Has anyone experienced applying for the DTV when not in their home country? We are from the UK but currently visiting Turkey for a month, then heading to Malaysia then heading to Thailand for December (travelling family). I was thinking of applying for DTV but read I need to be in my home country (I will be applying online). Just wanted to ask if this was really a thing or whether it doesnt matter?

Thanks!

DTV question - I'm from America but am traveling Europe. I'm currently in Albania. What could I use as "Document indicating current location". I think that's something official from Albania. I didn't get a passport stamp when I arrived.

Has anyone landed on Samui with the new DTV? If so how did it go? I am flying from Changi to Samui instead of BBK tonight and wondered how the immigration was there with regards to this new visa. Thanks 🙏🏻

Thank you for all you do. I am on a non-imm O visa with extensions based on marriage. I am due to renew my extension in October, after which, as always happens, I expect my passport will be stamped "under consideration". During the 30 days my extension is "under cinsideration", before I can get my yearly stamp, will I be able to leave the country? I am trying to schedule a trip abroad and want to understand my constraints. Thank you.

Hi All.... I would like to go to Thailand regularly for 7 months. I.e. for approximately 210 days. Can I use DTV Visa for this?

Example: I will get a DTV Visa and fly to Thailand on October 1, 2024. In March 2025, I will cross the land border and enter Thailand again and stay in Thailand for another 1 month, after which I will fly home? Next, I will return to Thailand again on October 1, 2025, and I can do it this way for 5 years, during which time will my DTV Visa be valid?

My 60 days runs out at the end of this month. More expensive I know but I have decided to fly to KL from Khon Kaen. For a few reasons. Lao requires a visa even for only a week. Malaysia are more welcoming with 90 free days. And also I'm looking forward to some Malay and Indian food. Going by what I have read in this group everyone has overlooked Malaysia.
