@Lynn ********
well if you got 6 month METV (multi-entry tourist visas) you can enter/exit thailand as much as you want during that time and get 60 days entry each time.

They're good visas if you're going to be here a while as most people can get close to 9 months of stay out of them by timing the bouncing out/back correctly

Now if you just got single entry tourist visas, you did indeed waste that money

Sadly, you're more than a little behind the times there

🙁

The burma borders up north have been closed to foreigners for YEARS. 😮

You wanna bounce out/back to get a free stamp 60 day entry you use the borders with Lao up in Chiang Rai province (Chiang Saen or Chiang Khong)

Best bet would be to use a service to take you there and back so you can get out/back the same day and not have to spend several days in Lao before you can come back

Chiang Mai Visa Run bounces to the Lao border almost every day contact them

You were mis-informed 🙁 That was just another one of those inter-web rumors that people kept spreading until they were taking it as fact 😕

It's been 60 day free stamp entry (visa exempt) for 90+ countries since July 15th 2024

AND

You can get one 30 day extension at the immigration office for 1900baht giving you 90 days total.

this is the list

You might wanna actually state your nationality 😕

90+ countries get free stamp (visa exempt) 60 day entry, this is the list

Whether you're asked for onward travel or not flying into thailand free stamp (visa exempt) 60 day entry is an AIR CARRIER policy more than anything else.

As a rule you won't be asked for onward travel when you stamp in to thailand at passport control (not unless you have an extensive entry/stay history here on free stamps which is when they seem to ask people to prove they're leaving within the days they will stamp in for)

CHECK with your air carrier and if they say you can fly without onward travel you should be okay once you land here

@Jon *****
right that's what I said he would have to apply for a totally new non-o visa first, then the year after that

There is no problem at all applying for another single re-entry permit after you come back into the country but before you leave for your next trip.

Many people who only travel a couple times a year buy them one at a time.

WHERE are you in thailand? That will control what border(s) you can bounce out/back at

I am doubtful you are a foreign female married to a thai male (which is the scenario of the cut-n-paste you ripped/posted) 😉

So other than the 400K baht financial requirement that foreign males need when married to thai females (or foreign males married to thai males for that matter now that they do same sex marriage to a thai visa/extensions) the process, the time line and overall outline of how it is to be done is correct.

I would say just slog on out to Chaengwattana (Section C-1 the visa issuing section) and get the hand out for the Non-O visa, that way you're sure you have the most recent one they have.

@Steve *********
how can you get the confirmation that you applied without uploading the proof you're in Lao when it asks you for it on the eVisa system?
Tod *********
@Steve *********
in order to get the confirmation that you applied for the visa online so you can show up and pay you have to upload the proof you're in Lao on the application 🙂

That's why you upload your visa/entry stamp
