I am in Thailand on a 60 day visa exemption, but I'd like to extend it to 90 days.
I'd rather do things early than late, so I was planning to go within the week. However, ChatGPT (which is not always reliable) says to wait a bit as Bangkok immigration is very strict.
Is this true? Should I wait till January to extend, or just do it now? I thought it would be best to ask real people.
Also, it has to be done in person, right? I haven't found an online option.
How long do we need to be away (third country, not “home”) between 60-day exemptions?
I am a solo mom with two kids, all American passports on a 60 day exemption, which is up on the 26th of Dec. I intend to get a DTV as a digital nomad, but wanted to see how it is before going through the whole process, as this is our first time in Thailand.
My rough plan is to be in Taipei for Feb/ March, and apply for Thai DTV from there. In the meanwhile, we’ll be going to Malaysia over winter break and planning to return Jan 1. We won’t be there long enough to wait for the DTV to go through, so we’d be returning for another exemption. Is 8 days long enough they would be okay with another exemption? Or would they be okay with it because it would be only our second entry?
Alternately we could stay in Thailand over break and apply for an extension but I don’t know how likely it could be refused, or if the 30 days starts the day we apply, or if it gets added to our original date.
Sorry, if this has been asked 100 times, I even tried the embassy, but I get an error message. With 60 day visa exempt, can I go and come back once within the 60 days? This would NOT be a 'visa run', obvioudly, but just a flight to Vietnam for 2 days, in order not to lose my 'Flying Blue' frequent flyer miles by taking a short flight on a partner airline, and crediting the miles to 'Flying Blue'. Just one clear answer is all I need, thanks in advance.
I intend visiting Thailand in January using Visa Exempt 60 day entry. I then intend visiting Laos also in January, when re-entering Thailand would I still have the days left of the original entry unused?
Hi, am looking for advice on a situation I couldn't find anything online on.
I've recently had to get a new passport in Bangkok as my old one had no more pages left. I had previously entered on the 60-day visa exempt stamp, then picked up my new passport in Thailand and my old one was made invalid.
My question: is it possible to get another 30 day extension on the new passport without leaving the country? I have a flight out of Thailand a week after the current stamp allows me and previously had no issues extending for 30 days but am unsure about the whole new passport situation. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
Hello, I would like to ask for advice on a longer stay in Thailand, I will be retired in January and I want to enjoy it a little differently, thank you all for your answer, have a nice day.
