Hey everyone. I'm currently in jomtien and want to extend my 60 day visa exemption by 30 days. I've done this before in bangkok by myself and it cost just 1900 baht at immigration. I got quotes of 4500 and 4900 by visa agents here to avoid queues. Then i went to immigration here and the 'yellow shirts' there quoted me 4000 to take care of it. This still seems like a lot. The reason they gave was that they need to get me a TM30 (residence form, I'm staying in a hotel) approved by immigration. Can anyone confirm this is true or am i better off just doing it myself? And do i need a tm30 and how do i get it if i do (from the hotel?)? I don't remember needing a TM30 when i did it in bangkok.

Good morning,

My 60-day visa exemption expires on March 29th. For personal reasons, I would be better off extending it in advance. If I extend it two weeks before it expires, will Laksi Immigration do it?

Is there anyone in the group who has extended it successfully in advance to a similar length of time?

Good day.

Went to get out 60 day visa exemption extended today for 30 days and it could not have been easier.

Went to Krabi Immigration office at 9am and it was getting busy already. We took with us photocopies of our passport and the visa stamp on our passport. We also took along a recent passport photo and 1900 bhats in cash.

The lovely lady there asssited us and we were then seated until we were call to the desk.

Easy peasy and it took us 30 minutes but we could see it could get busier as the day went on - by the way we are from the UK🙏🇹🇭

I visited Thailand end of Sept 24 - beginning Dec 24. 60-day visa exempt + 30 extension. Flying back to Thailand 02 Jan 25 - end of March 25. Any problems envisaged with Thai Immigration at the airport? UK passport holder. Thanks, and apologies if this too basic a question for this group.

EMERGENCY UPDATE! Hello, It's Maxim Thibodeau I'm posting from my wife FB because we only have her phone with us. We went to Udon Thani to get my 60 days extension based on marriage (visit spouse) and got told by the officer that this extension has been discontinued for people that entered on the new 60 days visa exempt entry.

I was trying to get the 60 days after the 30 days last month. I always do 30+30+60, but now with the new 60 days visa exempt entry, only 60+30 is possible. Can't do 60+30+60 nor 60+60. I asked. The 60 days extension is completely discontinued unless you are coming from the 90 days Non-O.

If it affect Udon Thani, it probably affect other immigration, so please call before going. So for me instead of bouncing every 120 days, it's now every 90 days. Well, the 90 days Non O at Savannakhet might not be a bad deal anymore given that can extend 30+60 days from it which total 180 days. The 60 days today would have given me 150 days.

And because it was a holiday yesterday, I'm gonna have to bounce from 1 day overstay because the border never close for holiday while immigration does and you don't get the overstay stamp nor 500thb fee when that happen. So if I'm able to bounce, it would be further proof that Nong Khai is still a piece of cake. My wife is with me, and we do have marriage certificate, etc. I guess this probably help vs going solo without being married. If I'm somehow denied or get told that it's the last time, I'll either use border run company next time or go wirh the DTV.

I will update via a comment below after I cross back into Thailand. If you don't hear from me within a few hours, it mean that I'm stuck in Laos. Everything should be fine. I think a warning would be worse case scenario in that border. Haven't had a single warning in 12 years, but things are changing.

Arriving shortly in Thailand, using 60 day visa exemption.

Is there ANY hard and fast rule as to how early into that period you can apply for a 30 day extension??

The www is littered with contradictory opinions, ranging from "immediately after arrival" (albeit NOT at the airport) through to "a few days before the 60 days are up"... and almost everything else in between.

Is it simply a mess... at the discretion of the Officer in front of you... or is there a RULE?

On a 60 visa exemption but applied for a Non O visa in Thailand. Will the new 90 day visa get added to my current 60 days or will I loose the remaining days on my 60 days.

Also I’ve been told to return to CW after 14 days to collect my stamp. Do I need to make an appointment or just show up and ask at the desk?
