Hi all, I’ve just paid for 2 multi trip visas from the UK to Thailand as we was informed that the requirements was changing back to 30 days then extension for 30 days due to foreigners sleeping on beaches. Now I’ve read it’s still 60 days then 30 days extension at immigration. Is this correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current rules for entering Thailand from the UK allow for a 60-day visa exempt entry, followed by a possible 30-day extension at immigration for a fee. This has been unchanged since July 15, 2024, despite misinformation suggesting different requirements. Travelers should confirm visa details from reliable sources rather than rumors.

Still the same ie 60+30 days

All I can say is just enjoy your trip you have all the correct visas for your stay, in future my advice is to not beleive here say or Google as most are out of date or incorrect. Pop any questions on here and you get great advice from very helpful and knowledgeable people.

You were mis-informed 🙁 That was just another one of those inter-web rumors that people kept spreading until they were taking it as fact 😕

It's been 60 day free stamp entry (visa exempt) for 90+ countries since July 15th 2024

AND

You can get one 30 day extension at the immigration office for 1900baht giving you 90 days total.

this is the list

I don’t really see the point of a multi visa now that is a 60 day entry tbh 🙄

We have done a border run 3 years ago, when we had 6 months in Thailand, but with the 60 day entry with 30 day extension there’s not much difference.

This ain't the thailand it was three years ago,

as I said,

once they went to 60 days they started getting really hard about letting people live here free stamp.

Still you have your visas, you only need 90 days, you'll be fine,

Try it now ;)

You clearly haven't bounced out/back on free stamps recently 😮

Thousands of people are denied entry to thailand free stamp entry every week (especially after being here a while).

Immigrations takes a dim view of people "living here" on free stamps by bouncing out/back to milk another 60 day entry.

If you have a 6 month METV that is money well spent as you won't have issues exiting / re-entering during the validity of the visa

Yeah, realised we’ve just wasted £300 on visas, my bad 🙄

60 day visa is £30.

On the plus side if you enter on the visa you can still do two waver entries to Thailand in the same year.

no such rule about how many you can do per year. Don’t make up false rules in your head.

2 entries 180 days total

Yeah, unfortunately we only needed 3 months before we move on to Malaysia 😩

yep, sad to say in that case you did indeed spend money needlessly

You can get 60 day free stamp entry and one 30 day extension and that'll give you the 3 months you need

Best of luck with it, live in and learn, safe travels

well if you got 6 month METV (multi-entry tourist visas) you can enter/exit thailand as much as you want during that time and get 60 days entry each time.

They're good visas if you're going to be here a while as most people can get close to 9 months of stay out of them by timing the bouncing out/back correctly

Now if you just got single entry tourist visas, you did indeed waste that money
