Hello everyone ❤️

Last week I was refused entry to Thailand at DMK airport because I had stayed too long continuously in 2025 and exceeded the two visa-exempt entries allowed. Altogether in 2025 I spent 10 months in Thailand. I entered twice on a visa exemption, which I extended at immigration, and as the father of a Thai child I’m eligible for a 60-day extension instead of the usual 30 days. Adding January and February from my previous entry, it came to 10 months in total. Unfortunately, this time I arrived during a strict period and was treated quite harshly. I understand it, I don’t hold a grudge, even though in 2024 it wasn’t a problem to stay in Thailand the whole year on exemptions.

After I was refused entry, I flew back to Hanoi and applied for a tourist visa through the e-visa system. It seems to be the appropriate visa to visit my family in Thailand, which is also the reason you select in the second step of the application. Unfortunately, my application was rejected after one day. It looked like an automatic rejection and I’m not sure why. Is there any way to find out?

I would now like to apply for a Non-O visa, but I’m afraid of another rejection, even though I have all the required documents. Maybe someone could help me with this? Thank you all for the kind comments on my previous post 🙏❤️

Hi to all of you!

I have a question concerning the new rules with visa exempt and visa extension.

If I understand well we can technically obtain 2 visa exempt in a calendar year and for the first exempt a 30 days extension and for the second visa exempt a possible 7 days extension.

Now, if I arrived in october 17 and got a 30 days visa extension until january 14:

1- if I go for a border run I should have an other visa exempt;

2- for the visa extension will I have only a possible 7 days extension or because I will be in a new calendar year I would be able to get a 30 days extension.

Also I'm flying back in Canada on april 15 which gave me a 6 months trip.

If I can't get an other 30 days extension I will simply spend a month or in Laos or in Malaysia and come back for the 2 last months of my 6 months trip in Thailand.

I'm 71 years old and spending 6 months a year out of Canada is good enough for me.

And yes next time I will probably apply for a MEV (multi entry visa).

Thanks to all and please if you got nothing positive or usefull about my case I just rather hear nothing from you.

Thanks again!

Update: OK group. I got it. No need for more comments on this one. THANK YOU ALL for your comments and help.

Good morning to everyone, one question, I made my last extension in December 2024 after a 60 days exempt entry.

I'm back in Thailandia the 16 October 2025 and my 60 days exempt entry will finish the 14 December 2025

Will I get 30 days extension? Which will be the first and only in 2025?

After that I'll will flight to Vietnam for two weeks, should I get another 60 days exempt on my way back to Thailand?

And if my flight back home will be the 13 April 2026, do you guys think I can have another 30 extension? Which will be the first of 2026?

Thanks to everyone who will answer.

Hello everyone .

Last year I entered Thailand on 24 December 2024 and stayed for about 40 days . Left to visit Siem Reap and Kuala Lumpur for a week then came back to Phuket for about two weeks ( first entry on visa exemption of 2025). After left back to my home country of Romania for two weeks , then Istanbul, Dubai , Cairo and back to Thailand for another week( second entrance on visa exemption for 2025) . Mid March I returned home to Romania got my USA work visa and stayed in America to work from April to December. Now my plan is to bring my parents to SE Asia . We will be in Vietnam for a week but would like

to fly to Thailand on 31st of December for New Years Eve( it would technically be a third entrance in 2025, but with an almost 9 month pause between this and the last entrance) . Do you guys think it would be an issue , should I wait until it’s technically 2026 the fly into Thailand. Overall I have spent probably less than 60 days this year in Thailand .

Thank you

I have a 90-day NON O RETIREMENT visa. If I leave the country and re-enter from a neighboring country about ten days later, can I get a 60-day tourist visa exemption?

I was in Thailand in January and July this year. I didn't do the extension and flew back to the UK before the 60 days on both occasions. I am planning to fly back to Thailand end of the month and planning to stay for less than 8 weeks. Will this be OK or is it best to get a tourist visa?

it is funny because the first time, i apply for a visa, i asked my Embassy in Canada wich visa to apply! they said a E-visa for the three months, i did that to not having the stuggle to go to immigration! I tought by going on certified channel like the Thai Embassy, i would have the good answer! I knew about the 2 moths and 1 month extexion, but i did not want to make a trip to the immigration! Anyway, a lot of you spoke to me like i was a fool or don't know anything about Thailand! That was my first post and my first entry with a visa! The last then years i came here for two months or lest! I also had remarks about my writing, and yes i speak French and try my best to have a comprehension way to post! Some people are very blessing and i don't know why, you have more experience then i do!!!

Hi, so I have been on an education visa for the last 10 months in Thailand. I went to Melasia for a week or so and now I want to come back to Thailand as a tourist. I have a tourist E-Visa already approved however I heard they can still turn you down at the airport especially recently with the crackdowns. Because I have been living in Thailand the last 10 months and only been out for a week and a half will they turn down my tourist visa? I basically want to know if it's worth paying extra money for an agency to take me through immigration (I know they work as my friend has used them alot to bypass things, but they are expensive). Do I pay the extra money to increase my chances or is my online e-visa enough?

Because I left Thailand without a re-entry permit, my education visa is automatically void even though it was meant to last until 20th December.
