We have done a border run 3 years ago, when we had 6 months in Thailand, but with the 60 day entry with 30 day extension there’s not much difference.

You only get 60 days on a multi trip visa, it can then be extended a further 30 days at a local immigration centre for a fee, then you have to do a border bounce and start the whole process again
