I finally submitted my application now that I landed in Vietnam but it keeps saying payment failed or canceled. I only have one international debit card with Charles Schwab that I’ve taken and used in over 12 different countries with no issue. I have a travel notice set for both Vietnam and Thailand and I am currently using it for other purchases.
I’ve tried safari, chrome, DuckDuckGo, laptop and mobile and keep getting failed payment. I’m so stressed out does anyone have a solution please? I’m on hold with my bank but their headquarters are in Texas and no one has answered yet. I want to give up.
EDIT: the Thai eVisa payment processing center is a Thai bank however its address is located in HONG KONG. I called my bank and they approved the charge and added Hong Kong to my travel alerts in addition to Vietnam and Thailand.
According to the Schwab representative I called, the eVisa website also used the current address zip code for the billing address - which is so nonsensical bc if I have to be in the country of the embassy I’m applying to why would they use the current address zip code for the billing zip code? Why not ask for that when taking down payment information?
Hey everyone! I’m planning to apply for the DTV from Pakistan, but I’m a bit stuck on the financial requirement. Since sponsor letter is also acceptable, my father is willing to sponsor me and has enough funds with 6 months of bank statements.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
Will Thai immigration accept a sponsor letter from a parent, or do they strictly need the money in my account?
P.S: i earn a steady income of around USD1.5k/month and have around USD 5k in savings myself.
Would really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!
Ok- I have a question for all my Wise Banking American ex-Pats:
When I'm moving money from my Wells Fargo to wise and then Wise to a Thai bank account should I exchange the funds to Baht and then deposit them s Baht to the Thai bank account?
Does that make sense? Or just do a USD dorectly into my Thai bank account?
Hello! Is there somewhere I can begin or a document I can read with beginner knowledge? I am thinking of relocating to Thailand in the upcoming year but have no idea where to begin especially regarding the Visa process
Which of you applied in vientiane, laos? im here, made application on friday and due to go and pay the embassy tomorrow. Just curious to hear any experiences that may assist me with this process or possibly put my expectations at ease lol.
Have provided proof of everything they ask for so hoping i either just get accepted or get an interview to fill in any blanks if they need more.
Thank you all, youve been very helpful so far with this process. 🙏 I hope you are all successful with your applications also and wish you the best of luck and energy.
My yearly extension of stay for non-O marriage ends Sept 4th.
I’ll leave Thailand next week and come back end of August 20th, by plane.
Then I’ll leave Thailand again Sept. 16th to my home country (Germany) and come back in November.
What will happen August 20th when I enter Thailand (by plane)
1. with a Reentry Permit: Can I stay until September 19th (after expiry Sept 4th of my extension of stay)?
2. without a Reentry Permit: Will a get a normal 60 day visa-exemption stay ? (I understand that the extension of stay becomes invalid)
Thanks in advance.
Background:
My travel schedule makes it difficult to do the extension as usual b/c my travel collides with the timelines for application and ‘under consideration’ period.
So my idea is to get a new Non-Imm o visa (marriage) multi-entry yearly in my home country before returning in Nov.
The visa itself shouldn’t be a problem. I clearly fulfill all the requirements and did it a few times before .
For the Non O retirement visa, would you recommend using a visa agent or not? I'll be in Bangkok.
Also what bank would you recommend for opening an account? From what I've read on this forum Bangkok Bank used to be good but now they're not anymore. People say Kasikorn is good, any others?
Okay I have the next dumb question. My buddy is trying to transfer money from Bank of America to Bank of Thailand. He's doing a wire transfer and he's not using wise so let wise go. When we went to do the transfer it asked did we want to use Thai baht, US dollars or euros. We did an experimental run of a thousand US dollars. We chose Thai baht and it gave us an exchange rate of 31.61. not a great exchange rate. Now the question is should we have picked US dollars and then let Bank of Bangkok convert it. Please let us know what you guys think would be the best choice in this quest to bring money to Thailand.
Need a visa agent to support me and my VN gf with DTV visas. I'm Lithuanian. Have the needed money on account, just don't want to do it through my embassy in person, as it's in Denmark. I'm in VN now, would be best to solve all here or online. Any options?
