It helps to answer interview in Thai 💕 officer will be nicer 💕 first applied last year in my home country, confident with bank account n yearly income but was met with (we don't have bilateral agreements with Thai govt so we don't know what to charge)

So to rush to get in I did ED visa which helped me to learn Thai เรียนภาษาไทย but 😩 unable to travel out. So I took the plunge & one way ticket out. Lesson learnt to check on bank holidays it was a grueling 18 days wait with just an appointment date. But I think 2 points to learn from this

1) Glad I got an agent, pay 100USD to save on headache, help me check on docs & even advise me retaking photo showing my ears and no teeth to prevent rejection. They help to push along documents.

2) Sometimes you just have to push through, follow instructions, be there early not on time, before office opens (everyone had appointment at 9.30am) what a cute arrangement 😂 just persevere. Be prepared for the weather (correction : thks for helping below, so I be sure not to miss deadline reporting save fine money 😊)

My husband and I have started the visa process. It seems fairly straightforward, although I'll probably have more questions as we move through the process.

Is it worth it to hire an agent to do some leg work and/or review the required documentation? If so, what's the average cost?

We'll be staying in Krabi when we come back from tidying up our affairs here. So if we need to meet up with an agent hopefully they're near Krabi.

Just got a request for further documents:

* Other request documents: Please upload a copy of the business registration (in English or accompanied by an official English translation) in the case of self-employed persons/sole proprietors. The document must include the applicant’s personal details.

I have no business registration because I work as a freelancer. Previously, I attached a contract with my long-term client and screenshots from my Upwork account, as well as previous jobs completed. What can I do now?

For Hanoi, I've read tonnes of posts here and just curious about how many months you all have that 500,000 Baht in your bank statements for? (love to know the shortest period of successful cases ;) Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently living in Thailand on a DTV visa and working for a company that pays me as a freelancer.

Since the company is not based in Thailand, they suggested I obtain a work permit through an Employer of Record (EOR) service. I'm assuming they would increase my wage accordingly so that my net salary isn't affected by the change.

I have a few questions:

Has anyone gone through this process?

Would you recommend it?

From what I understand, I would need to cancel my DTV visa, and I'm not sure whether having a work permit would offer significant benefits beyond things like opening a bank account. I'm also unsure if I’d be able to reapply for the DTV visa in the future if needed.

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Question about Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) Entry Requirements at the Airport

Hi all,

I was approved for Thailand’s 5-year digital nomad visa back in September 2024 but I haven’t entered the country yet. I plan to go soon and I already have the paper visa approval in hand — it has my photo and personal details (E-Visa).

My question is:

Do I need to present supporting documents again (like bank statements, income proof, insurance, etc.) when I arrive at the airport, even though the visa has already been granted?

It seems unnecessary to bring all the original documents again, but I’ve read mixed info online. Just want to know from others who entered with this visa — what was your experience at immigration? Do you need to show for example, proof of accomodations or bank info? Was anything asked of you?

Thanks in advance!

I signed up for True money. Working well for 7-11 and grab payments. Trying to unlock the advanced features such as scan to pay . When I uploaded my non O visa they said it was expired. I am on a retirement extension. Has anyone else experienced this?

Edit for all the enquiring minds:

My husband receives a steady monthly income from the VA. We will have DTV visas. We homeschool our children and will be be putting them in muay thai. Thanks for all of your input and concerns for our family. P.S. we've done a lot of research but are also looking for feedback from people who are actually familiar with the areas.

Hi, we are a family of 5 looking to move to Thailand by the end of the year. I would like opinions on Hua Hin vs Chang Mai for families. TIA
