Hi guys,

I’m so pleased I found this forum, it’s been a big help reading a lot of posts. I’ve decided that I wish to retire in Thailand. I’m currently in Thailand on an extended 90 day tourist visa, which expires shortly.

I’m a little confused over the best way to proceed. When I return to UK, should I start the visa process at the Thai embassy to enable me to open a bank account here ? Is it easier to apply in the UK, or to return here and apply ?

Many thanks for the advice.

Hi everyone,

I’m an American currently in Thailand looking to apply for a Non-O Retirement Visa (age 65). I’m considering using an agency to assist with the process for peace of mind and to reduce stress.

Could anyone here share what the *average cost* should be for an agency to handle this process?

Thanks so much for any guidance! 🙏

For those with Retirement Visas,

How many pages does it take up?

I have my 1st Retirement Visa and it takes up a ungodly amount of pages... if this happens every year i am screwed because my passport does not have that many pages.

Hello,

I've applied more than 10 working days ago and it seems like my application hasn't been processed yet. Would it be a good idea to just go at the Embassy physically and ask about it or could they get annoyed by this and reject my application? That way I could also answer any questions they might have on the spot but that may backfire so I'd rather ask first. Thank you

Dumb question here.

Have anyone experienced or heard of the immigration not letting you into Thailand even after getting the DTV visa?

Hi, I want to travel to Japan but need a visa for it. According to Japan Embassy's website, I need to show proof of long term residency in Thailand and a tourist visa will not suffice. Any idea if they would accept DTV? My nationality is Indian if it helps.

I'm doing my first 90 day report in Bangkok in person after converting my non-O visa into a one year retirement visa. I have the small slip the immigration office gave me and my stamped passport. Is the 14 day prior and 7 day after reporting day rule still in effect? What other items do I need or are recommended that I bring with me? Is there a form I can pick up at the information desk? What copies, if any, should I make before I enter the queue? Thank you in advance.

A little advice, please.

My wife and children are on DTV already, and I am on Non-O. With law changes, my non-O is expiring, so I want to follow my wife’s DTV. We are currently in Thailand and I know that I must leave Thailand to apply, but does my wife need to leave also, given that I’m following her?

Thanks for the help!
