- I'm not 100% sure, but as your parent just be aware, there MAY be a requirement to show a medical reason why she's dependent on you. It might be best to stop into the immigration office that you report to and ask them for the requirements for your mother to get a Non-O as a dependent to you/your Non-B. Maybe the mods
These are from Bangkok Bank from over a year ago, before the recent update. But this will give you an idea what to expect. I think the big change may have been now no tourist visa or tourist exempt entry, must be some other visa type... But AGAIN, this is just to have an idea and confirm with the bank.
You might go to the Bangkok Bank website. Go to the accounts sections and scroll down to the bottom. There's a link to contact them. Tell them you will come to Bangkok with a Non-O and will need to open an account to transfer in your 800,000thb required for your Retirement Visa. Ask them for their current requirements. I would suggest you open two accounts. One for the 800k Retirement requirement, and the other for your regular spending. This allows you to keep your 800k account clean and easy to look through for immigration. They like it when you make it easy for them. To do this, you will likely need to ask the immigration office for two (2) Certificates of Residence (one to open each account). The 800k can be in a type of savings (orange book) that gets a little better interest than the regular savings account (blue book) You might mention you want to open these two accounts when you contact them in order to confirm that won't be an issue for them. Good luck.
Last April I went for one night in a Bangkok hotel. Before I left Jomtien, I asked the Jomtien immigration office if I'd need to file another TM30. They said no, not if I was returning to the same Jomtien address. My next 90 day report came up, and I filed online. Approved, as usual, no problem. To be safe, you might want to stop into the immigration office and ask them if you stay 3 nights in Bangkok, would you need to file a new TM30. Better you get the info for your situation yourself, directly from the immigration office. Good luck.
Don't forget, you may need to order your 1 year bank statement from your bank 1 week before you plan to submit your 1 year extension with your immigration office. You might confirm with your bank how much time they need to get the 1 year statement for you.
You might want to message your AirB&B owner about this before you check in. Confirm with them before you check in that they will do it. If they say they won't provide it, find another AirB&B owner who will.
It's a different type of saving account with no online/ATM, still completely liquid, can withdraw at any time, but gets a little better interest rate than the blue book saving account.
Not sure if this helps, but I'm pretty sure if your current 60 day visa exempt entry expires on Dec25, that you can go to the immigration office and apply for a 30day extension. Maybe that could give you the time you need, without having to border bounce. Just something to consider.
