𝗦𝗼 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗿𝘂𝗻.

Nope what you're talking about is doing a border bounce, where you exit/re-enter and come in on a free stamp 60 day visa exempt entry (you're not going to get a visa from any thai consulate)

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮-𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁?

There's a couple things wrong with your idea

First you can't get a tourist visa by bouncing out/back at the border with any country as I said you'd get just a 60 day free stamp visa exempt entry.

Second the only burma border open is the one in Ranong province at the pier where they go by boat to Kawthaung, so the question is where are you in Thailand?

Sadly for you, if you can't hit the 2 month seasoning requirement you would have to start the whole process over again from zero.

The process would work like this

**Bounce out/back to come in on a 60 day free stamp entry

**Apply FIRST for the 90 day Non-O visa at your immigration office, pay the 2000baht,

**Wait the review period, go back get the Non-O visa and new 90 day stamp inked in

THEN

**Wait until you had 30 days or less left on that 90 day stamp (and your funds were seasoned the 2 months) and then after that you could apply for the year extension of stay for 1900baht

That's how you start all over from scratch and you need to check with your immigration office to see if they can even issue in country Non-Imm visas (some can't).

If your office can't do it, you'd have to really go on a "visa run" and go to a thai consulate in a nearby country to apply for a new 90 day Non-O visa online thru the eVisa system once you're in that country.

My apologies to everyone who commented for deleting them

We just don't know WHERE the O/P is in this process and they are providing conflicting information. SO until we can suss out what's actually going on there's not much sense in keeping the thread open or having the conjecture about what they're doing

Thanx one and all for the comments 🙂

Okay this post just gets harder to understand 🙁

This is the process to go from a 60 day free entry stamp to first a 90 day Non-O visa and then a year extension at EVERY office that can issue in country Non-Imm visas..

It takes a minimum of THREE visits to the office to go from free stamp, to Non-O to year extension

**You go to the immigration office with documentation, (bank letter, lease, copies, and the TM87 Application for visa form) you apply for the 90 day Non-O visa for 2000baht

**The immigration office will give you a receipt and usually on that receipt is the date you're supposed to come back to the office to get the visa. Now sometimes they just say "show up the last day your current 60 day free stamp is valid for"..

**On that date you show up with your passport and they will ink in a Non-O visa (stamp it as used) then ink in a new 90 day stamp

THEN You wait until you have about 30 days or less left on that stamp.

**You go back to the immigration office with all new documentation, (copies, bank letter, lease, a TM& application for extension) pay 1900baht and they will issue the year extension of stay (some offices require you come back the following day to pick up your passport.

Now sadly we have no idea where the O/P is in the above process 🙁

IF they already got the Non-O visa and 90 day stamp inked in they have to go apply for a year extension with all new documentation, the TM7 application and 1900baht

That's why I closed this post, until I hear from the O/P to figure out what they're actually on now, and what they're really wanting to do, we're done ..
@ Arendarski ****
ek, either message me about this post OR go over to your immigration office in Hua Hin and ask them what you do on Oct 7th.

Please do not resurrect old threads like that. 😕

This is how it works,

IF you are on the 90 day stamp of an initial Non-B visa you can stay the 90 days

Whether you work or not, doesn't matter, you get those 90 days, no one can cancel it, no one can stop it. Even if the work permit is cancelled you still can stay the 90 days

You have to be out on/by that day if you're not getting an extension from the employer who you got the Non-B thru

I messaged you the answer when I deleted your comment on that old thread

I think that is a mistake and that ALL thai consulates are now 40k/400k

I went to the canberra website and it showed from 2023 info that I think is now not current

as Jan said, most offices you apply for the extension, pay and wait for your passport to be returned that same day. Only a few offices (Jomtien, Phuket) have you come the following day to pick up your passport

At most offices you can have the 2 month detailed statement and the bank letter up to 7 days before you show up for the extension.

You need to update your bank book the day you show up to apply for the extension

Seeing as there are over 80 offices in thailand you'll have to check with your specific office or say where you're getting the extension and see what people answer as far as how that office does the dating of the financial documents

Just so you're clear you need THREE things to show proof of funds when you go to get the extension

1 - standard bank letter (just a paper stating your name, p/p#, account #, date and the balance the day they write the letter)

2- two month detailed transaction report

3 - updated bank book and copies of the relevant pages the day you apply for the extension

Also just so you know NO consulate issues the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa anymore. That is not a choice when you apply for the visa

You get a 90 day single entry Non-O, you come here, get stamped in for 90 days, get a thai bank account open get 400K baht banked and when you have 30 days or less left on your 90 day stamp you can apply for a year extension at the immigration office where you stay based on marriage to a thai.

That's the only way to get a "year" anymore

this is clearly posted on the eVisa online website under "family visa" and it shows 40K baht a month in income or 400k baht banked

@Nathan *******
while this is the posted proof of funds on the canberra website I don't think that's what it is any more because that website page is from 2023 which was before they went online to the eVisa system.

I think they adjusted the proof of funds (just like all the consulates did, to what is shown on the eVisa website now
