As you can see here, the 16 and 17 of Oct are open for booking. Sept is already full..

Online appts (at least in Bangkok) can be made 30 days in advance.

Every day a " new day" opens up 30 days out.

So set a reminder 30 days from when you want the appt, and check the system that day.

Although there is no real hard fast rule about it I'd say you should go transfer the stamps as soon as conveniently possible 🙂

The choice is yours,

Just curious seeing as you have a year extension of stay based on retirement why you wouldn't stay here on that stamp until it runs down and then get the DTV?
Tod *********
Yep, leave without a re-entry, and you'll be able to buy another visa at a thai consulate without any problem

Just so you know; you need to apply for one of the REASONS they sell a DTV for (work cation, or one of the soft power reasons)

you can't just show the banked money and get the visa 😕
Tod *********
That is a pretty straightforward category of DTV to apply for,

I think any of the consulates would be okay for you to apply thru,

Usually reports are that the ones in Malaysia have longer processing time, I'd try Hanoi, or HCMC they're pretty fast

Jomtien started doing it when the seasoning switched to 3 months after the extension was granted.

Many people have reported having to update their bank book and show back up on the 3 month mark.

In theory as soon as you fail to meet the criteria for the extension, that extension can be voided. I have never heard of it happening,

but

I have had people who got caught out the following year because they didn't keep the funds in the 3 months after their extension was granted,

they had to leave, come back and start all over from zero with a new non o etc

that link they gave you is for the thai authorized providers

Don't quite know what to tell you, even AI got it right when I asked when the 100K USD mandatory insurance took effect for OA visas

The requirement for the Thai Non-Immigrant "O-A" Visa to include $100,000 (approximately 3 million Baht) in health insurance coverage, specifically including COVID-19 treatment, officially began on October 1, 2021. While the change was confirmed by the Thai government in June 2021, and announced for implementation around that time, the implementation date for the new, higher coverage was set for October 1, 2021.

Most all consulates the world over require that 100K USD mandatory insurance many of them require it through a Thai carrier because foreign carriers will not sign the foreign insurance certificate
