Hallo

I live in Germany,

I'm German and 61 years old.

I have a work contract in Germany and because of that I am in statutory health insurance. I have the visa non-imm OA Longstay multiple.

Thailand pretends to be a health insurance with 3,000,000 coverage from a Thai insurance company.

I have travel abroad health insurance all the years with repatriation to Germany.

I don't know now if travel insurance will be accepted for the visa.

Reason for my question, the last border crossing the officials wanted to see my insurance policy and I had problems there.

Who can help me clear this question here?

-------------

Hallo

Insurance related question so hope falls under ‘More’ category!

Any advice on best travel insurance company to use for travelling from Thailand to USA? Most UK/European providers need you to depart and return from/to your ‘home’ country.

Trying to get my mum an O-A visa to live with us in her retirement. Health insurance is a requirement, however she is 81 and so far none of the health insurance companies in the official visa guide's recommended list will insure anyone over 75. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Hello fellow DTVers,

Which health insurance company do you recommend for being in Thailand on DTV (up 6 months in a year not to hit tax residency) - and not spend fortune on it.

Edit - any experience with Safety Wing?

Cheers,

Piotr

I moved to Nakon Ratchasima last year and kept my US health insurance (62 yo male in good health). However, the insurance is $750 USD a month. Is it advisable to cancel that insurance, get local insurance, and just get travel insurance for my twice yearly trips to the US to see the grandkids? I plan to just do 10 day trips to the US. Thank you.

Greetings, may I ask who people are using for health insurance that are staying on the DTV visa? I’m currently using travel insurance, which will run out and very interested in what people are finding out there for long-term coverage. I do have a pre-existing condition if you call that as I had a kidney transplant 18 years ago, but regarding that everything has been normal ever since. Thanks in advance.

This post only has value for US citizens who stay in Thailand 6 months or less per year and are using a Medicare advantage plan. These are my reimbursements from Medicare advantage from United Healthcare. As you can see, I was already reimbursed by the plan.
