Went from visa exemption stamp into Non-O 90 days thai child dependent visa in Thailand. Submitted the whole paperwork in 2 sets that is needed for the 1 year extension (hoping I could get one year straight away). Am I right to assume that for the 1 year extension I will have to resubmit everything even if it's the same immigration office? Couldn't ask the IO as he wasn't bothered. He also stamped me a 3 days earlier date. I didn't see it straight away, just thought it was a weird date for the visa expiry. But didn't want to test my luck by complaining. Also, if a new rental contract is needed does it have to start 3 months prior to extension date or on the date of extension for a year (like 30 days before expiration of Non O 90 days)? TIA

I know the DTV is relatively new for this question, but just curious if anyone with DTV has thought about raising a family in Thailand or already gave birth to a kid here.

I know the elite visa is probably the best option, but I'm just wondering if it is possible to do this with DTV?

Basically, if two foreigners with DTV give birth to a child in Thailand, can the child stay with the parents on DTV?

We applied for our visa in Jakarta, and the application started on December 1st.

On December 12th, we were requested to submit all passport pages, which we have already uploaded.

As of December 17th, there has been no further update, and the status is still showing “Pending Document Check”.

So far, it has been 14 working days in this status.

I would like to ask others who applied in Jakarta:

• How long did your DTV (Workcation) visa processing take?

• Is this delay normal?

My current visa in Jakarta expires on December 26th.

Once my visa is approved, I plan to apply for my wife as a dependent.

Do you think it is realistic for both of us to receive the visas before December 26th?

If not, would it be necessary for us to do a same-day exit and re-entry via Kuala Lumpur?

Also, once my visa is approved, would you recommend sending an email to request urgent processing for my wife’s dependent visa?

If anyone has applied recently, please share:

• Did your application also take this long?

• How many days did it stay under “Pending Document Check”?

If my DTV application gets approved, can I apply immediately for my spouse and children as dependents before entering Thailand, or do I need to enter Thailand first before submitting their applications?

Also, does applying for dependents right after my DTV approval carry any risk of affecting or canceling my own DTV approval?

Hi everyone,

Can I check if anyone has tried travelling to Thailand on a dependent’s DTV while the main DTV holder is not traveling to Thailand yet?

My wife is the main DTV holder while me and our kids are dependents on her DTV (All 4 of us have our DTV approved)

We are thinking of flying into Thailand first and my wife will fly back a few weeks later.

We will prepare all the documents we submitted and also the min. cash amount as they seem to be clamping down on that as well.

Has anyone been stopped or turned around before in such similar scenarios?

I have a DTV visa as a remote worker, and my wife also received a DTV visa as my dependent. She also has her own remote business, but all of her clients are back home — none are in Thailand.

My question is: Is she legally allowed to continue working remotely from Thailand even though her DTV visa is issued as my dependent? And if immigration asks what she does here, can she openly say that she works remotely for clients outside of Thailand?

Hello I have a question and I hope you guys can enlighten me.

I’m currently in the process of getting my DTV (if approved) and I then would like to sponsor my wife and baby daughter. But I was told by many people that my 11 months old baby do not need a visa until she turns 2. I would just like to confirm whether that’s true, because if that’s the case I would only need to get my wife a dependent visa and I guess it’ll make the process even much easier. Thank you for the help.
