Thank you for accepting me to the group. I do have a question and couldn’t find the answer. For the retirement visa, will one of us have to have $24k or will each of have to have $24k in the bank? Thank you.
I’m debating whether to do soft power for cooking for my dtv or workcation since I work remotely but I’m not sure if my offer letter or employment contract specifically states that they don’t mind where I work but it does state that it’s a remote position. I could ask them for one but asking them to do anything in a timely manner is a joke. The offer letter/contract does specifically state I only have to be local for equipment pickup not sure if that matters. Any insight or advice would be appreciated. I also plan to get my 15 year old daughter a dependent dtv visa and I’m assuming I’ll wait until I’m approved then submit my approval with the same bank statements i am using along with her passport and passport photos. Will my drivers license, her learners permit, and a utility bill be enough for proof of address? I’m not sure if I’ll apply here in the US or wait until I go to Hanoi.
Hi, have any single parents applied for a dependent and could give some insight on the process ? I’ve read that I need a court order letter or a letter from the other parent stating they allow the dependent to travel without them.
Dad is on the birth certificate, but left when my kid was a few months old. No court order in place as he doesn’t want custody. For context I plan on applying in Vietnam.
Got my LTR-P visa today. FWIW, it took six weeks for the BOI cert plus another two weeks for the e-visa approval (about 8 weeks total). For unknown reason (different screen / agent), my wife's dependent LTR approval was much faster, three weeks for BOI.
Question: I believe I need to print the e-visa for immigration, but should it be in color? (chatGPT says color is best)
I work in Thailand as a teacher, I am Colombian. My mother, over 60 years old, would like to come and stay for 10 months. Because she is over 60 I am working towards her arriving on a Tourist visa and then applying for a dependant one here.
My plan is to buy a 10 month ticket but I fear the immigration officer will not allow her entry with that kind of ticket when our tourist visa is max. 90 days.
I have asked at the school I work in and they mention that I should just give her a copy of my visa, work contract and house contract but I am very worried it would not be enough.
Could someone please advice on the best way forward?
Has anyone been successful getting a DTV visa with a previous overstay on there file/ stamp in passport?
My children have 30 day overstay because there is no fine or re-entry restrictions for under 15years old. But im wanting to apply for dependent DTV visa for them but not sure if the previous overstay will affect this. Australia Embassy
Hi everyone, I am a seafarer on a merchant fleet and my wife and I are currently living in Thailand. I initially considered applying for the new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) as a seafarer, but I understand that DTV is for remote workers and digital nomads, and I may not qualify under this category as I am not a remote worker.
So now we are exploring a different option, and I have some specific questions:
1. At first I wanted to apply as the main applicant (Muay Thai training program as the activity) and my wife as dependent. But I realized that in this case her visa fully depends on mine. If I get delayed at sea (for example, more than 6 months), she cannot stay in Thailand without me and cannot exit/re-enter by border run to reset her stay. So now I am thinking of switching roles and letting my wife be the main applicant.
2. Could my wife apply as the main applicant (for example, cooking school program), and I apply as dependent? Would Thai Immigration accept me as a male dependent spouse?
3. We are currently living in Thailand, but plan to fly to Romania and apply for DTV visas at the Thai Embassy in Bucharest based on this plan. Does anyone have experience applying for DTV in Romania?
4. If we don’t get the DTV visas abroad, we will return to Thailand. I will enter as a tourist (which is fine), but my wife has already spent almost 3 years continuously in Thailand on a student ED visa. We will take a re-entry permit for her before leaving, but will this long history of ED visa cause any problems at the airport or with Immigration? Also, if she returns with a valid re-entry permit, will she be able to extend her current ED visa again as normal?
Any personal experience or advice would be highly appreciated. We want to be 100% legal and safe, even with my frequent travels as a seafarer.
