Hi, I'm about to get a new visa and work permit and a bit stuck with submitting a certified copy of my education certification/ diploma. Has anyone here gone through this - I'm wondering if consulates can certify PDF version of my diploma. The originals are back in Canada

Regarding DTV: I see some people got actual visas put in their passport. From the consulate in Los Angeles where I got it, they just emailed me a form. Why do some give actual visas in passport and mine just a document pdf? Any difference?

Does anyone know if you can get a photocopy of your university degree legalized for visa purposes? We live in in Hong Kong, so I'm hoping the US consulate here will legalize the copy, and then I can get it stamped at the HK Thai consulate.

My diploma is safely packed away in the States, and I only have a photocopy with me. Not sure if I need to track down the original

Many thanks!

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

We're not allowing people to post updates about the thai consulates in S/E Asia and their processing time. :O

We do appreciate people trying to post updates about this or that thai consulate nearby

To find out the requirements for a particular thai consulate

GO TO THE WEBSITE,

read the requirements,

read if you have to book an appt online,

read the processing time

and

figure it out :)

We wish each and every one of you success in your visa endeavors :)

EDITED: the condescending stipulation out of the post :)

any consulates in the region giving 1-year non-b visas?

american, i have a work permit and all appropriate paperwork

i got a 3 month single entry non-b in VTE earlier this year

i have been on 3 month extensions of stay since

why only 3 months and not 1 year extension of stay? because i work for a foundation. and imm at chaeng wattana only gives 3 months extensions of stay if you work for a foundation.

is there any where in the region that i can get a 1-year multi entry non-b?

i can get one in the US but i dont want to go there

happy to use an agent

thanks

I gotta send my Diploma back to the States for authentication by the Thai Embassy/Consulate there. Can anyone recommend a company/agent for such a task?

Does anyone know how we are suppposed to get official documents like birth certificates and marriage certificates from the US notarized. The US embassy in Chiang Mai and in Bangkok doesn’t do it anymore, yet it’s still required for family members following on my work visa?

Greeting!

Today I got a ME Non-O visa (based on marriage) in Savannakhet, Laos.

I don't know if that rule used to apply, but when entering and leaving Laos, you pay 100 baht at the border control.

Even though I duly had an E-Visa for Laos, it does not exempt you from payment. All foreigners pay 100 baht.

The procedure for applying for a (Thai) visa at the consulate is straight forward and everything is completed extremely quickly if you have all the necessary documents. The identical documentation requirements as before still apply.

If anyone has additional questions, feel free to do so in the comments.

I want to thank the help and support of the people in this group for all the doubts I had.

Cheers!
