Visa information required please.

My husband and I are UK citizens and travel to Thailand frequently as our son and granddaughter live there. Our son stays on a work visa and our granddaughter holds both a Thai and British passport.

When the ability to enter for 60 days came into effect with the option to extend to 90 days, my husband and I booked flights.

October - November for 49 days, we then booked flights December - March 89 days. We have now found out we can only stay a maximum of 90 days on a tourist visa over 6 month period.

We are both retired aged over 60 years old, is there another visa we can apply for before we consider changing our flights.

Thank you.

Hy folks , been coming to Thailand for 20 ish years once or twice a year .

It's getting towards that time when i'll be making the move . End of June 2026 is the time line i'm planning on .

I'll be 58yrs old with £80k in a bond , at current rates thats about £7.5k a year . Also will have £30k cash , topped up when i'm 60yrs old with £10k more .

Now i'm not interested in is it enough or not , each person spends different .

What i would like to know ,with the reglations as they are now , what type of Visa , if any , i would be eligible for .

Hi,

can anyone confirm (or correct me): my Non-OA visa (sticker in my passport) is valid until 30/09/24 (this year) and,

if I still fulfill all the requirements (financial, new health insurance up to 25/09/2025 (next year),…), if I stamp into Thailand the 18/09/24, will I get a permission of stay for about 1 more year until 24/09/2025?

Thanks for your help.

I’ve been reading comments; and advice given, for several months, from which I’ve learned loads.😊

It lead me to decide to apply for a Non-OA Visa, based on retirement, from the London Embassy, which I received yesterday.😃

I decided on this Visa, to avoid depositing 800,000Baht in a Thai bank, with little interest.

My plan is to exit Thailand, just before the Visa expires, re-enter on a Visa Exemption; and obtain a Non-O Visa, using the monthly deposit system.

Special thanks for the excellent advice given by Brandon Thurkettle and Stuart Cumming.

I’m so looking forward to getting back to the LOS next month.😃

I have been reading comments and advice, for several months. I’ve learned so much; and it lead me to decide to apply for a Non-OA Visa, based on retirement, from the London Embassy, which I received yesterday.😃

I decided on this Visa, to avoid the need to deposit 800,000Baht in Thailand, earning little interest.

My plan is to exit Thailand, in just under 1 year’s time, re-enter on a Visa Exemption; and obtain a Non-O Visa, using the monthly deposit system.

(I’ve been particularly impressed by the advice given out by Tod Daniels)

I’m so looking forward to getting back to the LOS, next month; and to living in my new “home”

Thanks to all the “advisors” and, of course, all the folks asking for advice, without whom, the advice wouldn’t be shared.🤔
