Hey gang, I'd been planning to apply for my DTV in Indonesia, but not sure if I should go to Vietnam instead with what seems to be happening in Indo right now with protests/floods/etc?

For context, my husband was approved for the DTV in Australia, but we didn't have time for me to then apply as a dependent/spouse, as the approval came through the day before we left the country.

We each have the 500k baht (mine has only been in the account for 2 months, but was close to the full amount for a long while before that).

My question is, is it better to apply as a spouse from Vietnam or Indonesia, and is the Indo process affected by the current situation over there?

New to this group and this whole visa process😂 quick question however!

Im about to apply for a DTV (Muay Thai) visa for myself, and sponsor my wife on a spouse option. Im just wondering, I have a personal bank account under my name exceeding way over 1 million baht, however, my wife’s personal account shows less than 500K baht, as we both only use ‘my’ account for all our expenses.

When applying for her visa, will we need to deposit xx amount into her personal bank account to reach the 500K minimum? Or will the bank account under my name only be sufficient, exceeding the 1 million baht?

I emailed the embassy, but no response, so just trying my luck here.

June 27 - submitted a spouse application for me

Hi everyone! Hope you’re doing well. I’d really appreciate any help or recent info on this.

My wife currently has a valid Non-B visa and a work permit in Thailand. I’m her husband, and I’m currently in Thailand on a tourist stamp.

Has anyone recently applied for a Non-O visa (as the spouse of a work permit holder) if both partners are foreigners?

From what I know, applications used to go through thaivisavientiane.com, but the site is no longer working.

I’ve tried to understand how the process works now, and here’s what I found:

1. You travel to Laos (for example, via Udon Thani and the Friendship Bridge).

2. You apply for the visa online at thaievisa.go.th, uploading all required documents.

3. Then you go to the embassy and pay the visa fee — 2,000 baht.

4. After a few days, you receive the visa by email and can re-enter Thailand.

Is this process still accurate, or have things changed? Can you still go to the embassy in person, or is everything only handled online now?

Also, how long does it take? Some sources say 1–2 days, others mention up to 10–14 days.

Spouse Visa Application

Hello, for all who have applied and successfully added their spouse to their DTV, can you please say what the requirements are for the sponsor letter?

Is there anything else required other than the usual (Cover letter was mentioned), do i need to show financial proof again, or anything from the business I work for to say about the dependant, or is my DTV enough?

Hey all, sorry I’m posting again but I’m freaking out a little bit.

I’m on a spouse visa extension (husband is a foreigner employed here) and we might seperate.

Assuming he still keeps his extension and I leave without canceling mine (because of lack of corporation from him-can’t get a letter from his employee etc)

Once I come back on my own (later on) on a new visa and ask for extension, will I have any issues other than a fine for not canceling the old one? I don’t mind paying as long as I can stay long term.

I didn’t clarify last time that I might not get any supporting documents from his employers.

Been reading about the DTV process and a bit unsure how this would be done in USA with my wife. We are currently in Thailand for 2 months and very interested to move here 🤩

1.) I apply first with bank statements then do we have an interview process? Do we notarize and get everything translated first before submission? ❤️

2.) I wait for DTV approval then apply my wife under same dtv how do we correlate the two — just to make sure, it’s not done simultaneously? 😵‍💫

3.) I own an agency online with 50K followers on IG how do I show the proof of “work portfolio” it’s a modeling agency that provides models for brand designers for their clothing line (big and small brands). The IG account with screenshots doesn’t seem like an official medium to submit as evidence.

Saw a few people approved in 7 days is it purely case by case? Or just having everything ready to go and translated etc? I speak Thai would that help in the application or interview process ? —not sure there is interview…

Hi guys. I want to ask if a married couple wants to apply for DTV visa. Should they apply simultaneously? or whomever is applying for spouse visa should wait for the other to apply and get first?
