We are leaving Thailand, but our flight is 12 days past our exemption visa. We are thinking about doing an extension. We haven't done one before, and we are worried because he just got a new passport, and the visa was in the old passport. Would an extension be put into an old passport or the new one? Would that be a problem? Would it be better to cross the border and just re-enter with the new passport? We are worried we will be denied reentry because we've had two exemption visas already. Any advice?

Renat Valiev posted in an old thread (that I have deleted)

I have the initial Non-B Visa and Work permit. I do not have a visa extension.

If my employer close my work permit, do I have to close my visa?

If I do not leave the country immediately after cancelling my WP, will I get an overstay?

I come to Thailand each year. Next year I want to spend 3 months there in the Australian winter. This year I investigated extending my stay but changed my mind when the cost of changing the date of my return ticket was $AUD680, much more than half the total cost. Next visit I intend to stay 2 months visa free then extend a month. What are the best options for an outward/return ticket? It's obviously financially punitive to change the date and I assume that if I am asked to show an outward flight, a return ticket dated 3 months from arrival would not be accepted. There is always the option to buy a cheap throwaway ticket (if such now exists) to KL or a refundable one. Any thoughts on the best option?

Hi, I was on an ED visa extension of stay (4 years and waiting to graduate)which finished on the 26 of August, so I did not get told by my uni that I needed to cancel it at immigration so I came back on a non exempt visa. Now I've been told that I'm on overstay and waiting for the letter to cancel my ED visa. What are the implications and what are my options. I will be going to immigration on Thursday to cancel my ED visa. What can I expect and what should I plan for. I left the country to go onto a tourist/non exempt visa but been told its not valid. I'm South African and not sure what my options are. Please advise of possible.

Hi all, so here's my situation...on September 14, which is a Sunday, my visa runs out. If I could get it extended on that day, all would be fine for my exit from Thailand on October 12. However, because it is a Sunday, I either have to get it extended on the Friday, and then be a day or 2 late when leaving the country or be 1 day late for the extension. My thoughts are it would be best to be a day late asking for an extension but would like to know what would happen either way as I don't want it marked on my passport if avoidable.

Hello

I unfortunately think that I know the answer but I'm asking anyway just in case.

I have to leave Thailand for a family emergency. I might come back after my visa expires (non O im retirement).

Is there something I can do ?

Could immigration grant a delay if I can justify of a very good reason ?

I have a friend who is 19, and he's here in Thailand with his father. His passport is absolutely full of stamps because he used to go to school in Gibraltar when he lived in Spain.

The problem now is that he's overstayed his visa, and he wasn't able to get an extension because his passport is literally out of space for any more stamps.

The extension was due on the 29th of July, and now it's the 11th. So we're looking at the best route to get him a new passport and to help him renew his visa and extend it before the end of the month.

We’re also considering just paying the overstay fine and then having him fly out of the country and return to Thailand on a tourist visa again.

In Chiang Mai, so thinking Flight to Vietnam.

But whats the most rapid way to get a new passport with space

Hello.

I had a none o visa that I extended by means of a re entry permit when I left Thailand 2 months ago.

That gave me to the original 90 day entry stamp 6th August.

Now I’m back in Thailand, my employer has changed my flight to leave after this date now.

Can I extend my stay at immigration?

I don’t want a 7 day overstay stamp TBH.

I have an overstay on my passport from last year - it should have been a day, but due to flooding and the immigration office being closed, it became 8 days. Has anyone had experience of getting a DTV specifically in London, with an overstay on their passport?
