If I'm applying for a DTV visa in Cambodia, my money is in my Canadian bank account. Does anyone know if it has to be in there for 2 months or can I just show the money in my account? Thanks in advance.
I've gotten a reply from Thai embassy for my DTV and I have 2 questions
1) does anyone have experience on what to put in the business case request?
2) do you need to have 500k consistently for 6 months of bank statements? Or just the latest the reflect the right amount? ( other months were shown ( ranging from 35k - 190k).
Hey guys, anyone from South Africa that applied and got their DTV visa that I can chat to? How many month bank statements, did you do it in South Africa, etc
can someone share his experience in Topping up his Bank Account before applying for the DTV which the Embassy can see on the Bank statements? For Example if i am applying for Soft Power and they see in the last 6 Month Bank Statements that i topped up my Bank Account for like 200k THB in 2 different Payments. Could that be a problem or are they don t care that much as long as it s not a one big payment?
Approved in Los Angeles - DTV soft power medical for botox and wellness treatment
Documents submitted:
- 1 month most recent bank statement showing at least 560k THB and a screenshot of bank balance on day of submission
- Photo of passport bio page
- Photo of US drivers license to prove location
- Current photo of myself
- Appointment slip (handwritten) showing 3 scheduled appointments for botox over the next 6 months at a beauty clinic and stamped with their legal ID number
- Appointment letter showing the initial appointment for bloodwork at a wellness clinic. I intend to start testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) here
- Appointment letter from Bangkok Hospital for a scheduled comprehensive physical including screening for common cancers and treatment for high BP
Timeline: 25 February - 11 April
The embassy’s only request for further documentation was that I should submit a confirmation to change my visa type from DTV to multi entry tourist visa (METV). I was also informed by the embassy via email that cosmetic procedures and physical checkups do not qualify for DTV. I then decided to submit a 1 page cover letter to explain the details of my treatment plans and why I believed these activities would satisfy the true purpose of DTV. 6 weeks later I was approved!
I fully expected a rejection and figured the $400 application fee I paid would be a loss. But I think the cover letter I submitted in response to the embassy’s initial request provided more clarity and helped my overall case for DTV.
I chose to pursue the soft power medical option because these are real ongoing activities I intend to continue doing in Thailand. I didn’t want to pay for expensive packages for activities I’m not interested in just to get the DTV.
Hopefully my experience provides some value to people in this group!
HUGE thanks to everyone here in the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) group for all the helpful info! 🙌
TIMELINE
* Mid March - Researched DTV categories, requirements, Muay Thai schools. Chose Wildcat Muay Thai (in Chiang Mai).
* March 26: Finalized details and paid for a 6-month course. Shout out to Meaw for answering all my questions! :)
* March 27: Received the required documents from the school for the Soft Power DTV application.
* March 28: Prepared supporting documents: cover letter, bank statements, proof of accommodation, etc. Decided to wait till April for my banks to produce the most recent, March account statement.
* April 1: Submitted my application (documents + fees).
* April 3: Received a request for updated financial proof (bank statements for the last 6 months) and explanation of how I’ll support myself. Sent the additional documents the same night.
* April 8: Status updated to “Pending Approval” (visible on the portal; no email notification).
* April 16: APPROVED! Received my visa as a PDF via email.
If I had to do it again - I would submit all 6 months of bank account statements AND the most recent month right away.
And in a case you're unemployed - definitely include a COVER LETTER explaining how you're going to support yourself.
Hi all, just a quick question. I am planning to apply for the dtv when I have handed my notice in for my current employer. I intend to work freelance on the weekends over the next 6 months to build a stronger application( I know this is not ideal as income will be quite low each month from this but better than nothing.) Would it be a red flag when providing my most recent bank statement as my last pay from the company will likely be on it. Is it likely they will query this? Applying through London embassy for reference
Hey everyone l’m applying for DTV in tokyo's embassy but l’m only staying there for a work holiday visa. I'm french so my bank account statement is from a french bank and it seems like it's not being accepted by the embassy (They want a statement from japanese bank but i don't have japanese bank account). Also I've been submitted my employment contract but it seems like it's not good. Do you have any advise ? Is there a way to contact the people in charge of my application ?
Has anyone been able to renew their retirement visa (Non-Immigrant O, one year). By making sure you deposit 65,000 baht pension funds into your bank account each month? What documentation is required? What steps did you take? Thanks!
