at Chang Wattana , just updated book on the day, at Koh Samui they never bothered. Depends on your local office. It's worth going to get the updated handout. Good luck :-)

you're right they do. Just done my first one here after 3 in Bangkok and they are very pernickety over a number of things such as the orientation of photocopies and how the map is presented and where in the house the photos are taken. They also did the home visit 3 days after my application.

On a positive note, get there 30 mind before opening and you'll be first in the queue!

It might seem obvious, but don't forget to take the spouse when you go to apply for the extension and go to your intended immigration office first to get the requirements list. It varies...as I found out after recently changing from Chang Wattana to Koh Samui!

@Jasmien ******
not true. In the UK, in my experience, the check in staff will insist on seeing a ticket out.

there is no 5 day extension! All extensions cost the same 1900b so take your wife, get the 60 days family visit extension. If you have any plan to return within 60 days, also get a re-entry permit and you're sorted to walk straight back in :-)

not meaning to hijack but does this mean ho chi Minh now requires the 400k too?

From Heathrow, Almost 100% it will be an issue from experience. Just get a cheap one way to anywhere is the easy solution.

You need a re-entry permit to allow you to travel freely in and out of the country. I believe it's 1k for the single and 3.9k for the multiple but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm this.

My personal experience after 3 extensions based on marriage and only living 3 miles from Chang Wattana is they have never visited.

PS I'd also had the letter printed that same day. This was Kasikorn bank.
