You are talking about the 1 year Extension of Stay.

In case the wife dies, this Extension of Stay does not have to be cancelled and the person can stay inside Thailand until the permitted up to date stamped in his passport.

IF you want to stay after that date, the person needs to apply for a NEW 1 year Extension of Stay based on one of the reasons.

This could be marriage IF the person marry another woman

Retirement or any of the many reasons used for the Non Immigrant O visa.

And yes, the person needs to meet the requirements of that 1 year Extension of Stay and in case of retirement the money in the banks becomes than 2 months prior application minimum 800.000 Thb and must stay there for at least 3 months after approval and the rest of the time of the Extension of Stay not less than 400.000 Thb.

Apply for the Non Immigrant B visa with Single Entry, get 90 days on entry and after 60 days you can apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on working in Thailand.

As soon as this stamp is inked in your passport, you can apply for the Re-Entry Permit to travel and keep this 1 year stay alive

few weeks ago you told that you have an Extension of Stay based on education, so why not ask the school what to do as they provide the documents for a new period of stay.

alternative is doing a border run or even a visa run.

Why would we follow up the regulations as asked?

We do as we please and when we are lucky the Immigration Officer in Thailand accept it.

And then we tell everybody they can avoid the rules and do as they please because when it goes wrong, the OP has a lot of fun, he will be LOL all day when you get refused entry.

Please do not try to get as lucky as him, if you want to try your luck, buy a lottery ticket, cheaper and less hassle when you lose.

Work visa, it does NOT exist in Thailand.

If you want to work for a Thai company you need 2 (TWO) different things.

to be allowed to work for that employer at that address doing as described as the job, you need a work permit from the Ministry of Labor.

To be allowed to be inside Thailand you need a visa, in this case the Non Immigrant B visa.

You can apply for a conversion of your tourist visa into this Non Immigrant B visa at your local Immigration Office, BUT as well as you and your employer need to meet the requirements.

As many times this seems to difficult for the employer, the easy way is to visit a Thai Consulate and apply for this Non Immigrant B visa. Your employer should contact that embassy to ask what documents are needed for this application.

Once you have the visa, you go back to Thailand get 90 days of stay, pick up your work permit and you can start working. 60 days after entry you can apply at your local Immigration office for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on working.

cost of travel, application fees, copies, hotel, food, drinks etc are depending on your preferences and you might ask your new employer for a donation.

Nope, the holder MUST inform the Thai Immigration Office where the stamp is issued if the reason of this stamp change as mentioned on the STM2 Form acknowledge of terms and conditions which the person did sign to understand.

BUT to make things clear, hereby the form

@Michael *******
wrong, please read the STM2 form you signed during the application for the Extension of Stay based on Education.

But you did not read, you need to cancel your Extension of Stay BEFORE you leave the country at the Immigration Office who stamped it into your passport. Just as reminder, the first few words of this stamp is the Immigration Office location.
Robert *******
And are you going to cancel your Extension of Stay based on education?

Or do you wait 6 months to find out that you forgot to do it and face a fine?
