Ronnie Chak Hijacked a post

Ronnie Chak I am in the same ground!

My non B visa expires on 31st July and my work permit in January 2021

I don’t want to extend my non B as my own business is shut down. I need to go back to my home country for few months too but have no flights as well.

Does my visa extends automatically? Any help would be highly appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice regarding their expiring Non-B visa and work permit, wanting to avoid an extension due to business closure and lacking flights home. Community responses emphasize that once the business is closed, the extension should be cancelled and the user can rely on the current amnesty, allowing them to stay until at least July 31. Suggestions include visiting the immigration office to confirm stay options and the possibility of remaining in Thailand until September.

There is a stamp in the passport, issued at 30 Aug 2019.

The rules of this stamp has to be followed,.

Government orders about section 35 of the Immigration act has no influence on these rules

The rest of the Immigration act is still the same and the rules are the same.

But good luck as we can only give advice

You have to cancel the Work Permit at the Ministry of Labor, after that you cancel your Extension of Stay permitted up to 31 July at the Immigration Office. If you can not leave the country, you can stay until 31 July using this amnesty and wait until the official announcement with extension of amnesty period or how to get a new valid stay.

The officer I just spoke to, checked both my passport and WP, his words are ‘ ok if your business finish, you can still stay till number 26 September’ and I reconfirmed’ for this Non-B visa krub, and he said yes no problem it’s for all.

It’s the same officer who is there for last 2 years.

But I will still go and cancel my work permit on Wednesday after the holiday.

GO to your local immigration office and cancel your extension of stay. Once you cancel your extension of stay, you will be on amnesty. It seems like immigration believes the amnesty will be extended until late September.

Once you cancel your extension of stay, you'll go on amnesty, which (as of right now) lets you stay in Thailand no later than July 31

Sorry, but you are not in the same boat.

As you commented you did close the company, your work permit and this Extension of Stay should be cancelled the day you closed your company.
