Nikita Tiutin likes to know:

Is it possible to receive a tourist visa in Suvannakhet without problems, if I was on non B and got a work permit for the last 2 years? Last time I applied for tourist visa from my country (Russia). Visa and WP will be expired on 31 march

[Nikita Tiutin]([members only]) Is it possible to leave thailand to laos earlier than 31 march? I am worried just because don't want to be refused in Lao and not be able to come back.

I already emailed to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, but no replies

Any advice , would be nice to hear. Thx in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
Nikita Tiutin is seeking advice on the possibility of obtaining a tourist visa in Savannakhet after having held a Non-B visa and work permit in Thailand for two years. The discussion includes concerns about leaving Thailand before the expiration of his current visa on March 31, with various comments addressing the rules regarding visa applications, potential denial due to staying too long on a Non-B, and advice on managing work permit cancellations.

AND WE ARE DONE.🤬

This was originally a topic started by Robert FOR the poster known as

Then it got hi-jacked by
@ **************
n and his tale of woe of being denied in Savannakhet 😠

THEN it got further hi-jacked b
@y *************
el and his pending tale of cancellation of his extension. 😠

Sadly I contributed to the hi-jacking by taking time to answer the questions. 😕

BOTH of you need to make your own posts outlining your situations if you want more answers.

My current extension is good until Oct but I got laid off
Tod *********
and are they going to let you KEEP the extension until Oct? Seeing as IF your work permit gets canceled you need to GO and cancel your extension immediately.
Chris *********
Hang on. I want to be clear I've had a W-P for these 5 years and will be canceling that on 1 Apr. I'm not here on a 30 day visa exempt.

you need to make your OWN topic

If you're already back IN thailand on a 30 day visa exempt entry I sure wouldn't throw those days away and run to Penang right now. You might as well get the 30 days AND get the 30 day extension allowed on a 30 day visa exempt entry as well BEFORE slogging to Penang and trying for a tourist visa.

Face it you only get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a year so there's no reason not to maximize the time you get if you used one of them comin' back in from Savannakhet

I just got denied at Suvannakhet. The embassy said I was in the country (Thailand) too long. 6 years worth of legitimate non-b visas. Oh well.....

Savannakhet was a pretty poor choice to pick comin' off 6 years of Non-B visas/extensions to go for a tourist visa :/ Did you ask on this group BEFORE you decided to go there or just picked that consulate?

should not have gone to Savannakhet...

here is why:

"Tourist Visa, apply if you stayed less than 90 days in past 6 month (they count time spend under any visa),

show own Thai Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from your Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up.

Onward air ticket or Rental Contract not required. "

But In Vientiane the type Tourist Visa is available to apply for after NON B?
Benjamin ******
1. Where these Non-B visas, or an extension of stay based on employment?

2. How is this related to the OP's question?

3. Are you Russian (BIG difference!)

Do not hand over YOUR Work Permit and YOUR passport to employers and let them do with it what they want.

Get a document that your last day working is 31 March, go visit the Ministry of Labor around 19 March and cancel your Work Permit with date 31 March, then visit the Immigration Office and cancel your Extension of Stay with new date 31 March and you can arrange travel plans and leave 31 March.

That is visa/border run company, not the visa agent inside Thailad, and says as below

"Tourist Visa, apply if you stayed less than 90 days in past 6 month (they count time spend under any visa), show own Thai Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from your Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket or Rental Contract not required. "

Just had a conversation with agency about visa run. And he told me that highly possible my application will be denied

Never heard of that rule, where did you find out?
Nikita ********
Just found out that I cannot apply for Tourist visa In savannakhet, because was on Non B and stayed more than 90 days already. Is it true?
Ellie *******
As long as you cancel your WP and extension of stay, no problem to leave the country before your current stamp is up.
Nikita ********
The school will cancel WP only on 31 march and visa as well
Benjamin ******
Just to piggy back on this, once the extension of stay is canceled, the OP must leave by 11:59PM the same day, OR apply for another extension of stay for 1,900, which will be denied and will let him stay in Thailand for 7 days.
Ellie *******
What do you really want to do? Getting SETV or enter on 30 days visa waiver?
Ellie *******
If you want to apply for SETV at Savannakhet, better to check with that visa run company what they would say (if you want to... call).

What I heard last time is that Savannakhet wouldn't issue SETV if you stay in Thailand more than half of last 6 months on any visa. But it maybe more than half year ago.

Or maybe better to pick another place in case.

I want to apply for Tourist visa 60 days

I don't see any reasons why you would be denied for a tourist visa. Russian passport holders also qualify for a 30 day bilateral agreement entry (unlike the visa exempt, this is an agreement made directly between the governments of Thailand and Russia). If your tourist visa is denied, you *may* be able to return on a bilateral agreement.

2 years ago to get a 30 days stamp was the biggest trouble I've ever faced (frontier in Cambodia)

If you cancelled your work permit and your extension of stay you can leave the country without problems

Do you have a Visa and go every 90 days abroad to buy a new one or do you have a stamp from immigration office with Extension of Stay is permitted up to ../../..
Nikita ********
My current workplace doesn't know anything about cancellation letter or any processes as they said, only knows about work permit. Should be any stamps in my passport that NON B is cancelled? or I simply fly out the country?

Sorry, but you start your own topic if you have questions and visa agents are not allowed to be mentioned on this page, so I changed the name with xxxxxxxxxx
