What is the latest with Vientianne? A tough nut to crack or suitably flexible?

But actually he wants to know if people have experience to get the Single Entry Tourist Visa at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane?

He as an UK passport, entered Thailand by flight with a 30 day Visa Exemption stamp, extended this with another 30 days at Immigration Office, went to Mea Sai Border and got a new Visa Exempt Entry and also got an Extension of Stay on this one. So a total of 4 months stay inside Thailand.
