Just fly another airline. why take the chance. Iran is unpredictable. Firing missles in all direction and all countries nearby
Please, you help me,I need advice.I Have a ticket Minchen(Lufthansa) to Bankog-Koh Samui.,16.3 departure..I am afraid.for the fly will be delayt ..And koh Samui the plane can't Wait..And back, maybe the plane Will be canclet 🤕 what Will i do .Iam old And my english Is horible..poor grandma
It might go but probably won't. If you have the means let Qatar cancel your fliight and book something else right now. Points flights are still out there I just checked.
If you think of the 1,000s of people who are flying on Qatar, the could Never be able to have enough phone lines and people to handle everything. If you are flying in the next 48hrs i get you need to reach out to them, otherwise allow the immediate urgent needs to be handled. Check their website, there may be instructions. PS: our supreme leader ( Trump) will have his beautiful war resolved very soon so the airspace is safe.
I would not go that way now! It’s dangerous. But you need to use you common sense and decide what to do. I would go thru Korea or Japan. Delta could probably help you
Someone has gave information that that you must wait for canselation notice from you airlines before you rebook your flight so that question of responsibilty not arise.
you have many days to prepare but , for someone bought ticket Emirates flight 2 ways since last year and his extension visa will expired same day of flight back home this weekend, can not contact and don't get any answer email form Emirates.😞
You will probably only get viable undated 24 hrs prior to. Even if airport/airspace opens not suite how they will handle the backlog . QR said nothing for at least a week while Dubai is day to day .
I just heard from two German couples who are stuck in Doha and have arranged their own flights. It cost them €3,000 each via Switzerland, but they have to take an 8-hour bus ride to another airport. I highly recommend you look for a different flight.
If you are worried buy a refundable ticket or book one with points. No one knows if DOH airspace will be open. If you do get through, all QR might do us allow you to cancel or rebook for a later date. But they are dealing with all the 1000s of canceled flights 2 weeks ahead if yours
They will give you the option to cancel for a full refund once you’re inside of 7 days. I have a flight the 14th myself so I’m crossing my fingers the air space opens back up but it’s not looking great at the moment. I have a daily ChatGPT update going on it. 😂
There are people with immediate issues ! Bigger and more important than yours. Stop jamming phone lines further . People who are stuck need it more 🤦🏻♀️ common sense and less self importance required.
You’d better find an alternative flight via Pacific before they’re all booked out. Don’t wait for airlines to take action. They will just make you wait until last minute. Avoid middle eastern airlines for the time being.
About the flight you can contact your family in America call from your hometown give them your reference, try that way can help you. I used to do it for my friends. Otherwise, call again by your side.
Buy a fully refundable ticket on an airline that doesn’t transit through a war zone and go about your business for the next week to 10 days until it is time to think about this. Qatar will either reaccommodate you or refund you if needed. There are people in Doha now that they need to take calls from.
Even if someone was to pick uo, what do you want from them? They are not dealing with reservations two weeks out right now. Stop clogging up the lines!
Normally Airlines need to ensure the passengers safety and wait for their information updates. If you cancel, ensure that you mention it when talking to them. Otherwise you may not get the full refund.
Seriously? It's a war. Rebook your flight eastward and contact them after hostilities are over. Insurance doesn't usually cover war, so you're SOL. Just don't cry about it, please because people are dying right now and your problems really don't register on the importance scale.
Usually Airlines have the responsibility for the passengers safety. They are obliged to provide you a full refund or alternative arrangements. When ask for a refund, mention that if they are safe to fly. If you initiate a cancellation, you may not get a full refund.
Well in wartime, thats a long time from now. Do a wait and see for another week. What country in the Americas are you trying to get to? It’s unclear in your post.
You better find yourself a ride to Riyadh. Truck Bus or Camel!
Hamad International Airport in Doha has temporarily suspended all flight operations due to the closure of Qatari airspace amid regional military tensions.
Current Operational Status
As of March 1, 2026, Hamad International Airport (HIA) has confirmed a temporary suspension of all aircraft movements following the closure of Qatari airspace. This suspension affects both arrivals and departures, and passengers are strongly advised not to travel to the airport until further notice (The Peninsula Qatar, Indian Express). The closure is a precautionary measure in response to regional military developments,
It is pretty nerve-racking for someone wanting to return home and pointing out their frustration with the current situation, only to get snarky and useless comments, but then again, this is Social Media. I wonder if the OP can get a refund from the airlines and then fly on a carrier going over the Pacific and then pay for an additional flight to the East Coast, where I am assuming is their destination
I suspect flights will be cancelled a few days out, anyone's guess after that as it depends on hostilities. If its protracted I would think the airlines that can would try to divert to safer airports like Istanbul or Cairo as temporary hubs or fly direct where possible. All those Middle Eastern carriers have the kit to fly direct from London or New York to Bangkok and plenty of other points. Planners make plans.
I'm booked on Emirates for a tour of Egypt and 4 day stop over in Dubai. Initial flight is on 12 April. It probably won't happen, nor anything to get stressed about and wait your turn. My tour is 50% paid and I insured my trip. I'll get my monies back, not tomorrow or next month, but eventually. Just book another flight with safe air traffic. . Qatar will refund you for that flight if it's a no go. .... I don't know your economic situation. or you a backpacker or monger.
Do not cancel flight, wait 48hrs till the day of flight, cancelations are not in your favor if you do this on your own. The reason is the inflation of the flight will more than your original ticket.
You can alter or cancel a flight by going into Manage my booking. Qatar are part of One World so you may be able to change airline and route, maybe look at Malaysia as they are also part of that group, you could go easily to Malaysia from Thailand ...
Tell work that you will be late coming back. Nothing you can do. You can’t get a flight out 😉just have to wait it out. And you have proof here that you tried. I’m joking. Good luck
There's a pretty good chance that you arent going to fly via the middle east, even if the chaos stops tomorrow (which is unlikely - look at any of the last three "quick" wars, and each of them went on for years... Or is still going on for years)
There are reportedly over 1 million people in the middle east trying to get out: people caught in transit, people on holiday or visiting there, residents and diplomats being sent home, and cruise passengers.
What flights there are repatriation flights. They arent moving more people into the hubs to make the problem worse.
Try their Facebook DM. When airlines are this busy, they will try to answer DM. Make sure you provide a complete question. They won’t really know if they will be flying next week but perhaps you want to know if they can move you to another carrier? Make sure you add that
Claude Huartlikewise. I haven't heard of anyone in Thailand affected rebooked by QA on alternative flights. The strong advice from their team at the desks on Monday, was to cancel and seek a refund. When I care this. I know the airline prefers to get rid of us asap
I'll be going back to Thailand in April. FORTUNATELY I hadn't booked a ticket until Staturday. I usually buy a ticket for a stopping connection over Bahrain or Doha or Abu Dhabi or Jeddah. I invested a few extra bucks to get me a nonstop flight.
The offices are closed at the moment I believe. People are working from home. I'm not sure how the staffs are being managed but at this moment the country is closed, including the airport, and everybody is asked to remain under shelter. I hope that helps understand the situation here!
So you fly in almost 2 weeks but call now. What a do you expect? I live in the Middle East, while we’re not running around like headless chickens we have no idea what tomorrow will bring. You travelling in 2 weeks are not a priority, your part of the problem!
Go to their office in Bangkok. I tried to call them when I had a flight back to Prague while Covid, and the Czech Republic did not allow Germans to enter the country. I tried to call them a half day, but the next day I took a bus to Bangkok. There were 3 or 4 ladies at the office who had to handle all the calls and the customers at the counter as well.
Nobody can give you a clear answer so even if you call der can confirm your flight but if it for the escalade will be different again. Don't call wait 2 day's before
There are updates on their website. Last I checked they are rebooking or refunding up to March 10. My recommendation: book a new refundable flight now if you have the need and means. Prices will only go up. By the time 16 gets here either QA will have canceled and refunded, or you can refund your new ticket.
Enough time until then. Check the app to see if there is any news. From 48 hours before it is interesting. I should also on 16.3. Fly with Etihad. If not, I'll extend my stay and enjoy the time. 😃
Do yourself a favor and start looking into alternative flights that pass over asia and the west coast. Quayar airlines will likely issue refunds on canceled flights, but when is another issue altogether
Contact them online. Manage my booking. Look at your ticket online. Fill in your adress phone nos ,email. If its cancelled, you wont be warned until 2 days before departure !!! Maybe only 1 day before. They have to gindre you a new flight then.Find the nearest office.
I was supposed to lie last night from Hong Kong to London. It was cancelled obviously. They have got me on another flight on Thursday but I’m not optimistic that it will be cleared up by then. The reason I’m telling you this is because I did call them and I got a very nice helpful person at a call centre although it was quite difficult to understand him as the line wasn’t great.. but he organised everything for me. I think you need to wait till closer to the time and see what the situation is….
As unsettling as it is for you, that is 13 days away. This is a very fluid situation; no one knows what tomorrow will bring. Qatar will contact you. Right now, they are helping those who have flights in the very immediate future. Don’t waste your time trying to call and jam the system.
As it stands right now there is no flight. But keep checking as its changing daily but calling them expecting them to pick up and give you an answer is well just typically American that you think the world revolves around you.
Neil Walters You are right in saying as it stands now. Everything can change in an instant. The fighting could suddenly stop tomorrow or, as Trump seems to expect, go on for several weeks. Doha airport could be safe or could be bombed to the ground in an hour.
If I were flying through that area and couldn't postpone indefinitely, I would definitely cancel my flight now and seek an alternative route before they are fully booked.
That’s what you get for trusting those godforsaken desert shitholes. They baited the world for decades with shiny infrastructure, and idiots drooled over it, ignoring millennia of bloodshed. These tribes are wired for extremism. Rich or broke, it doesn’t change. Dubai, Doha, Bahrain? Just oil-soaked facades of gleaming towers, built on slave labor and Western suckers’ cash. When shit hits the fan, like now, count me out. Stuck in sand with fanatic Muslims. No thanks.
I don't think anyone has the answers at this point - my wife flies on the 25th through Doha , will start worrying about that the week before if it's still like it is, and will then try to look at another route. Situation is way too fluid at the moment.
Gordon Howes how can you be sooo fricking dumb in this day and age of universal education...AND live in a foreign country, as a fascist supporter ?? or is just that the bars are open 🤔🤔
1000s of calls an hour. Why would you even think you might get an answer to something they don’t have an answer for? Why even expect they would answer? Making us yanks look stupid by posting this.
With six dailies ex-BKK and three dailies ex-HKT it's going to take weeks for QR to clear the backlog. Maybe look into flying transPAC? For those bound for Europe consider TG's direct, non- stop flights which continue to operate.
It’s not looking good. I’m flying out next month and also have a connecting flight in Dubai. Looking at options . Probably going to go the other way around the world. Good luck !
Maybe call the White House first. They may have better estimate when airlines like Qatar, Emirates, aso might be able to operate again safely. I do not mean it in a sarcastic way. But the airlines have to react on the ongoing military operations and the White House will know, what may happens in the near future, hopefully.
Don’t worry not yet guys it’s still far out. I’m flying emirates on the 17th. I will start worrying on the 15th. Meanwhile do still enjoy your holiday.
Christian Frere uhmm you better think twice now, two weeks to change something in a normal circumstance is cutting it tight... Now it's a regional war going on and thousands are switching their flights all at the same time you may not have a seat available
You are creating the problems yourself. People that are not flying immediately are calling to jam up the phone line. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow let alone next week.
Bonnie Smith unless you want to cut your losses and book a new flight you need to wait until QR release an updated waiver policy to include that date, still too early
Bonnie Smith just not possible. I went to emeralds today. They can only serve 250 customers per day. There were people there with flights 5 days ago who are not yet sorted out.
Bonnie Smith The airspace still closed. The government is monitoring the situation closely day by day and hour by hour, so the airline cannot provide a definite answer at this time.
Evan Ray the airlines are dealing with customers within next 48 hrs . By as you saying being proactive you're actually causing a major problem for people who should be on a flt today not 10days from now. Give airlines time per day to HELP CUSTOMERS who are stranded without hotels flights etc. Your turn will come. Patience is required. Im afraid you are not priority if its not for another 10 days.
Evan Ray Seriously ? Pray tell me how the airline can tell her the future? There is something called "The News" and you can check it daily. Quite unbelievable truth be told
Evan, being "proactive", asking questions about a flight 13 days in the future, that NOONE will have an answer for is taking time away from the passengers of flights in the near future (todsy and tomorrow).
How do you imagine an airline will be able to predict what happens with the security situation of a war two weeks from now?
Bonnie Smith what do you expect Qr to say? They have a wavier and they dont know when it will be safe to fly. You somehow think QR will know how the war will impact in 2 weeks?
Martin Drazen why stressed? The situation is what it is. We all are just a brick in the wall. There are more ways to find a solution to fly back home. Hopefully the war ends soon 🙏🏽
