Hello all, I would like to get some feedback from you all on something as I will soon be trying to apply for the DTV.

Regarding the "Employment contract or employment certificate" that the application asks for: I am a remote worker, employed by a company based in the U.S. That is to say, I am an employee of that company. But I don't have a contract with them. I believe they call it "at-will" when you don't have a contract, which mean either party may terminate the employment at anytime. In this case, is it okay just to have my employer write a letter addressed to the embassy stating my name, what I do, etc, and that they give me permission to work remotely in Thailand? I found a template online that someone else used, they call it a "Employment Confirmation Letter". Will this be sufficient in place of a contract?

Secondly, I understand that a salary amount needs to be listed in this letter. Do you know if it should be monthly or yearly? In my case, I'm still considered an hourly employee where I clock in and clock out when performing work duties. And so my paychecks are not always the same amount, as it depends on the number of hours. I'm wondering if I can just use the yearly amount reported on my 2024 W-2 that I used when filing my tax return.

Thirdly, some of the examples I seen others use for this employment letter, it was signed by the owner. Do you know if the letter specifically needs to be signed by the owner or can the General Manager's signature also be sufficient.? In my case, the owner hardly ever visits the property. It's the General Manager that I report to and oversees all of my work. And it was the General Manager that I originally went to asking about working remotely. The owner of the company basically leaves all of the decision making up to the General Manager. But I'm not sure which is the more appropriate signature in this case, or if either will do.

And lastly, are there any other additional documents my employer needs to provide other than this permission letter? Of course I will provide payslips too (I assume 6 months worth?), but I have access to my payslips myself. Just wondering if there's any other information that the company I work for needs to provide?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I need some advice please.

For DTV for business owner who wishes to work remotely from Thailand (currently in USA). What can the applicant use for proof of remote work?

1. Does THB500,000 have to be in personal account only? Can it be in business account?

(i have read on another post that someone got rejected because the money was in the business account)

2. Is there anything else we will need for proof of remote work for the DTV?

What we have now are

✅ Cover Letter explaining why applicant wants to apply for DTV and indicating monthly income per month, job description)

✅ Company Website

Thank you kindly,

Hi everyone!

I’m a software engineer working as a freelance and I am planning to apply for the DTV workcation visa.

I have 6 months of statements for my freelance account and proof of savings accounts overs 160k CAD (110k USD).

Is that sufficient for the visa application (to prove freelance activity AND financial situation) or is there anything else to improve my luck in the selection process ?

Will be applying for workaction visa, probably from within an Asian city soon. I have my own UK Ltd company but I am not paying myself regularly from it, apart from a small amount of dividends to a personal account. No problem showing 500,000 baht in £s and a regular income from the business account, but will they expect this to be in a personal account? Obviously my business account goes under the name of my LTD company, although I am the sole director. I could show 500,000 baht in a personal account if I had to. Any other tips from someone applying with their own UK Ltd company? I pay personal tax in an EU country, as I am currently resident there.

Freelancer DTV approved last week in Hanoi. Thanks to everyone in this group for helping out! My turn to give something back

Docs I added to my application (everything in English)

- Financial proof (3 months of 500K+ BHT)

- 2 framework agreements with clients I work with

- passport stamp as proof of arrival and hotel booking

-Screenshots of my LinkedIn profile that I use as website

-Emails with clients sharing results of my work

- Company registration docs --> showing I'm the only owner

Got approved after almost 2 weeks.

Good luck!

I’ve been told you need to have proof the required 500,000 baht has been in your bank account continuously for 28 days prior to your application. Has anyone had to provide this?

Hello. Yesterday started treatment for implants. Will have more preparation work done in 2 weeks, 2 weeks later flying back to home country. Where will apply for a DTV - Visa. The pictures shown. Would this be sufficient proof for Thai Embassy when applying.
