Why were important topics about border closures and METV entry issues deleted on the Facebook page?

Today I delete some spam but also 2 topics who seems to be very important:

Last topic was borders to Malaysia are closed.

After a few questions it was for short time during a dispute of some local people on each side of the border. No closing down of the borders.

Other topic was: No more METV, I got denied entry.

Well it took some hours of discussion but he is safe and sound inside Thailand and NOT denied entry.

These very popular headlines, used by the press to get more readers are in my option a no go on this facebook page.

We are here to help each other and not to get the most comments or reads on your topic.

If you make a statement/topics that will affect many other members , F.E. Survarnibhumi Airport is closed for three weeks, or TM30 now enforced in Bangkok if not done within 24 hours fine of 5.000 Thb or no more 1 year entry for Non Immigrant O-A visa, or what ever you tell without the show of proof it gets quickly deleted from this page.

I don't like to answer tons of questions, please help can this happen to me, special when nothing happened.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent posts regarding the temporary closure of borders between Thailand and Malaysia and the denial of entry for a METV holder have been addressed and subsequently deleted due to misinformation. The administrators emphasize the importance of accurate information and state that any post that could mislead members will be removed. Encouragement to provide verified information has been highlighted to avoid unnecessary anxiety among expats.

Yep, it's not only Thailand, I know people with valid tourist visas for the UK but denied entry because the IO doesnt believe their reason, ie tourism, for visiting the country.

As admins mentioned before, if OP wants to add update to his own but closed post, he just ask to admins to reopen with simple explanation. in this case I believe admin accept PM.

Last time: No denied Entry but made a spectacular headline. There was NO story, other than Immigration asked him for the 3 proofs and what he was doing inside Thailand.

Appreciated, Robert. Just curious as to that particular story.

As I said earlier, all based on a history of living inside Thailand. As we many times write, visa exempt entry, tourist visa, single or multiple entry and the ED visa are not made for you to use to live long time inside Thailand. If you choose that way, take the risk of getting questions or denied entry one day.

I appreciate how much you have helped others and know a post like that must unnecessarily cause panic. It's too bad you can't share what the real story is behind what happened but I understand it was a private conversation between you and him.

There was more than he initially told, much more. But this page is to help people, not for scaremongering with 10% of the info and for others to try to find out and learn.

I agree the post was unnecessarily alarmist but I am just saying I wish we could all learn what caused him to get the extra scrutiny, as on the face of it, the info he posted seemed like he wouldn't get a second glance, so I think many suspected there must be more particulars than he stated.

And how can you give an update of something that never happened? He was not denied entry, nothing more to say than a headline as NO more METV, entry denied is just scaremongering. I will not go into details as we discussed that all in private message.

That was a particularly interesting case that stood out from all the recent posts as it seemed his situation was different from many others who have had issues, and it would have been great to find out more details of what would make an IO question him or why they finally decided what they did.

I do wish there was a way to have you keep the threads open enough for the OP to post additional details. For example, with the Danish guy in Phuket, it would have been very useful for him to be able to update his post to answer the questions the more knowledgeable members of this group would ask to truly drill down to the reason he was being hassled. For many posts, I find they often will just say they entered X number of times and then got denied, without giving details of how long they stayed each time, if they got extensions, how long they stayed away, and if they returned back to their home country in between. These would help everyone see if the IO is likely suspecting they lived here based on entry and stay pattern.

It all depends on your history of living inside Thailand.
