How long does it take to apply for the LTR visa from Canada and what are the requirements?

It's me again, has anyone applied for LTR from Canada? We are contemplating to apply, how long was the process?.  

Both of us are 60+

No specific amount in Thai bank, wealth can remain overseas.

Age (over 50) and passive income of at least 80,000 USD.

Can we apply when we arrive in Thailand and pay 50K THB or should we apply while we're in Canada? The Thai Consulate charges more than 50KTHB.

Am I missing any other info? Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

Im Canadian and It was easy enough to do from Thailand. Just come in on Visa exempt entry for 60 days and apply right away. If you clearly demonstrate the income, the process is fast. Mine took 19 working days.

Make sure you can show $100k in savings somewhere or buy insurance specific to LTR here in Thailand.

Barath Faust 100K is sufficient in lieu of insurance but it is my understanding that it has to be in a Thai bank. Technically the 100K has to stay in the Thai bank for the duration of your visa/stay.

CleverFrog1651 it can be in any bank, anywhere, in any currency.

As for it needing to stay, I’m just not sure. If they wanted it to be so, it would be easy to add that sentence. But they didn’t.

I also got a reply bannthaiimmigrationsolutions, he wrote

"The passive income does not have to be deposited in a Thai bank account. Your wealth can remain overseas.

For the Wealthy Pensioner visa you do not need to make an investment in Thailand. And there is no minimum net worth. This category is focused entirely on age (over 50) and passive income of at least 80,000 USD.

The 50,000 THB government fee is per application and covers the entire 10-year term and includes reentry rights."

Barath Faust I simply took screen shots of the end balance at time of application and for the 12 months previous. Although it could have been 24 months… not 100% sure

Good morning Todd McGowan, we have decided to do just that. I suppose we can't open a Thai bank account until we receive the LTR visa.

One more important question please, how did you produce the bank statements, do we need to print every page of statement for the past 3 years?

Will request a letter from our bank as supporting document.
