Discussions about open or close on 26 Oct keep on going. The Thai Government declared 26 Oct 2017 as a public holiday.

This due the cremation of the most beloved and honored King Rama 9, Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Many Thai people and foreigners in Thailand would like to pay their respect at the cremation site in Bangkok or at alternative sites set up in every province.

I understand that not every visitor in Thailand really knows what King Rama 9 did for his people and country. I found this song in English (and subtitles) with a good explanation, so I hope you can stop the discussions and pay RESPECT to the Thai people and their late King during the ceremonial days of his cremation. Thanks.
