TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around a new SMS notification service from Thai Immigration that will alert expats when their visa is nearing expiration. While some commenters appreciate the initiative for its potential to improve communication and reduce paperwork, others humorously express concerns about the possibility of receiving a notification after a visa has already expired. There are also comments about improvements in immigration processes, such as traffic stops being streamlined and the efficient tracking of visa statuses.
Haha... true that. They came and picked up a guy who overstayed his visa at my Condo building here in CM (deported). They're definitely more on the ball with TM30 and visa details in the DB, it can easily tell them you're past your visa and where to find you.
Big Joke, here's a thought. Every year probably millions of pages of paper are copied and turned in. Mostly the same copies from prior years. Reduce those copies. Reduce workload and save some trees
your right my wife is a government officer and when I did my last reentry permit she talked to an immigration officer about the new government copy policy. All government agencies have to stop requesting copyâs but with immigration they said it will take some time before itâs implemented. My wife is a Probation officer and they required copies all the time also but now have to stop .
less paperwork = less people needed to move the papers around = less bosses = smaller big boss = less power = less money = cannot do. It is not a Thai syndrome but a worldwide civil service problem. Feel free to delete admin.
