What should I be careful about when sharing visa information in public Facebook groups related to Thailand?

Dear all,

Stay nice and be prudent in what information you give away on Facebook. This is a public group, every one who is able to answer two simple questions can be member. We do not mind if that is a tourist from what ever country in the world or an expat living inside Thailand or Thai Nationals. But if you openly state on your Facebook account you work inside Thailand, don't get angry that an advice as: "The non Immigrant B visa and the work permit" is given. It is your choice what you do with any advice given on this page.

Don't start name calling if it does not fit your agenda.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post highlights the need for caution when sharing personal information in public Facebook groups, especially when discussing visa matters. It emphasizes that while anyone can join the group, members should be prepared for advice regarding the Non-Immigrant B visa and work permits if they claim to work in Thailand. It also discusses the tone of interactions in the group, with members expressing concern that the standards for support and advice have declined, leading to conflicts and hurt feelings among expats and tourists.

, the Thai visa advice group is what it is

There's no where on the inter-web that you can go to get as accurate and timely of information about visas/extensions than this one.

Now do we turn off commenting on posts, yep,

In fact I do it all the time when I think it's gonna stray of topic or if I think it's not thai VISA related enough.

And now seeing as I feel this topic is straying I'm gonna close it too. See how that works ;) :P ;)

@Mark Allan I could not agree with you more.. I find myself contact posters outside of group page because the admins shut of comments prematurely. As though the agenda has shifted from being helpful to newbies to some other agenda of lesser quality.

Additionally - i will add. Sometimes it seems

I appreciate the need to clarify forum rules but the tone of this post really leans towards "ThaiVisa". Seems to be the case on this forum lately. It used to be the only non judgemental place for newbies to post questions and not be berated or made to feel stupid. Sad to see this forum lowering its standards.

Sorry Mark, if somebody ask a question like: I need a new visa before I can start my next semester as teacher. The answer is: Non Immigrant B and work permit. If after this answer is given the members get personall attacked, it is not lowering standards. Every member can give advice out of their knowlegde and experience. There is no need to attack them and start name calling if the advice is not what you like to hear.

All they have to do is raid the yoga centers and holistic vegan coffee shops, where the Euro hippies hang out!

She answered one of the two questions with a question and I even became a bullie by given her the advice she asked for. She is not happy, well at least she was long enough member to ask her question.
