My experience in Savannakhet.
Went yesterday at 08:30 AM to the Consulate.
It opens at 09:00 AM, not as mentioned on the post outside at 08:30, about 10 people in line. Walked in, asked for the application form, joined the back of the queue and walked out at 09:30 AM with ticket nr 15.
Today went back at 13:30 PM, Was first one at the gate for the 14:00 PM pick up time. Still over 50 people in line to apply for a visa, even when on the big signs is mentioned closed at 11:00 AM. At 14:05 PM gate opens, guard ask us to follow, went a little detour and a lot of angry faces from those in line. Handed over my queue number, got back the passport, checked the Visa and looked at now very surprised people on the other side. Funny part was at application, she took the original wedding certificate, waved it from left to right several times above her head and gave it back. It seems somebody in the back want to see the originals, but is okay with the distance.
All well done, apply 30 minutes, pick up 10 minutes including me checking. Back to the border, stamped out and stamped in without questions.
I picked up some stories about Immigration at DMK, several Offices inside Thailand, but as it will be hearsay I will not share. I'm only glad that I don't work and I will, what ever happens in my lifetime or next lives always refuse to work as an Immigration Officer. I never heard so much BS in such a short time.
