my apologies if I missed already answer on this topic : for renewal of O-A visa 50+ retirement, does the amount of 800.000 THB should come mandatory from abroad or it is going to be sufficient to show the bank book or letter from a bank with proof of entire amount? Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The amount of 800,000 THB for the renewal of the O-A visa does not necessarily need to come from abroad. When applying for a Non Immigrant O-A visa from your home country, the funds can be in any bank of your choice. However, to apply for an Extension of Stay at a local Immigration Office in Thailand, the funds must be in a local Thai bank account in your name. It's also noted that procedures may vary by location, as some immigration offices in Phuket and Bangkok might have different acceptance criteria.

"In Phuket and In Bangkok" does not mean EVERY IO at those offices will set the same criteria.

In Bangkok they do not ask about the origin of the 800,00 baht when applying for a 1 year extension based on retirement (and original O-A visas)

If you apply in your home country for a Non Immigrant O-A visa you can have the 800.000 Thb or equivalent in other currency on a bank of your choice.

If you like to apply for an Extension of Stay at your local Immigration Office you must have the 800.000 Thb in a Thai back account on your name.
