I heard all Thai Visa fees including DTV will go up, effective now. DTV will triple to 30,000 baht. Still a good deal for 5 years. Is this confirmed true?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A discussion arose regarding potential increases to Thai visa fees, specifically the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa). One participant claimed the fee has tripled to 30,000 baht, leading to various comments questioning the validity of this information and the sources from which it originated. Many responses pointed out confusion between Indian rupees and Thai baht, with some users revealing skepticism towards social media's role in spreading unverified visa news. Ultimately, the consensus is that until official sources confirm the fee changes, the information remains speculative.

I heard that any DTV holder that streams themselves eating avocado toast and drinking an iced latte will be immediately deported.

30,000 for the visa, no problem. 30,000 to apply and get denied for some trivial reason, then have to pay and apply again, unacceptable.

Also, if I pay 30k baht I’d want no problems or questions beyond the routine when entering and exiting..

Lol absolutely terrible deal because there is no refund if you are rejected, so it's like gambling. Now 90,000 baht visa fee with 3000 application fee? Acceptable

Should put the application fee to 100,000. Would remove all the ones who can’t afford to fly out to Vietnam for 3 days to renew their stay.

DTV invented to be hassle free for people who have money to stimulate the economy. What we got? People signing up with cooking classes and fa.ake documents that can't afford a 5k air Asia flight every 6 months and a hotel in Da Danang 😂 First 6 months were glorious. Now everytime I enter a boarder I get a side eye from an officer, like I'm an ESL teacher on a Muay Thai visa living on Pad Thai in On Nut.

yep exactly my point. Got the brokie squad who game the system, live out of a suitcase and can’t afford a flight to renew every 80 days but will instead spend 8 hours down at the immigration with their paperwork. It’s not the time they don’t have; it’s the $.

the proof of 500k baht savings kinda does that tbf lol. As easy as it is to fly to malaysia some people might be busy and will still enquire about potential 6 month extension to see if its a possibility. Who can blame them lol...its rare but they do consider it sometimes.

The details are that a DTV cannot be bought in Thai Baht, as it is only available outside of Thailand in the foreign currency of the respective host country of the Royal Thai Embassy. And some of those sneaky institutions already have a 300% plus surplus.

🤯 Details can be different currencies. 30K Indian rupees are 10k in THB which is totally fine.
