Take care your Visa, make sure that you check the stamps directly after getting them and ask for correction if a mistake is made. You do not want to get in trouble due to overstay.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Expatriates in Thailand are advised to be vigilant regarding their visa status and ensure all stamps and documentation are correct to avoid issues related to overstaying. Recent cases have highlighted the risks of deportation and blacklisting for those who overstay their visas. Immigration officials are actively cracking down on illegal activities, particularly targeting overstayers and others in violation of visa regulations. It's important for foreigners to follow the rules and stay informed about visa requirements to avoid serious legal consequences.

Nothing to do with checking stamps, these were deliberate overstayers, with ill intentions.

I could have used a link where Pattaya Immigration is visiting motor bike shops where foreigners work without work permits and correct visa. I used this link, there are several reasons why in different areas Immigration steps up and go out to check. Be warned, follow the rules, make sure you do not overstay. And remember: If you can not do the time, don't do the crime. Be careful out there.

This is the main point, "Surachet said the operation was carried out after the prime minister ordered police to crack down on illegal immigrants suspected to be in Thailand to carry out various scams, including romance scams and ATM skimming." There are a lot of people was skimmed their cards everyday, especially in tourist attractions area.
