We give information in the group not by private messages.

There is a list of countries for getting Tourist Visa in Laos whereby these people have to apply in their own country, I don't know if this is only tourist visa or all visa.

Maybe some others can shine a light on this.

You won't get the needed work permit to do volunteer work on a tourist visa. Total different things.

I was told they send applications down to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office here in bangkok to get them approved. Good to know it worked out

well...as I see it,as long as the required documents are met then there will be no prob with the visa(nonB) application in Laos,,,

and it is true and correct that in case of the tourist visa extension those citizen of these countries need to go to their homeland to apply for it...that's what we do also before(well its another visa story)

an update to this (in case of non b teaching visa)

since my bf is an algerian passport holder he needs a visa to get to Laos to process his nonB

we applied for it and it took 2 weeks to receive it.(that's how it works to anyone who applies for visa in their embassy,atleast 2weeks)

then by plane he went Laos,he gave his application and complete documents from the school.

the next day he received it with no hassle.

Only way I can help you is with the information I found searching about visa application for these listed countries is: You can call the thai consulate in Vientiane and ask if you want to. They speak english; +856 21 214 582 If you do, please inform Us with the outcome, thanks.

There is a sign to this effect outside the consulate in Vientiane. I can't remember if the list of countries is the same here, but I do remember Vietnam being on the list and thinking that was a little odd
