Slowly on, more and more computer systems are used by Immigration.

In the news today:

ONLINE VISA APPLICATIONS

The Board of Investment has partnered with the Immigration Bureau and the Employment Department to allow foreign investors in BoI-promoted businesses to apply online for their visa and work permit at the same time. The single window for such services will be piloted next month in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket before going nationwide next year.

The Thai government is introducing an online visa application system for foreign investors in BOI-promoted businesses. This initiative, set to be piloted in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, allows applicants to simultaneously apply for their visa and work permit, with a nationwide rollout planned for next year. I will require getting a 30 days extension on my 60 tourist visa soon. I can do that at: Cham Churi Square ?

nope, in Bangkok you go to Chaengwattana..

Or you can go to Bumrungrad Hospital on Saturday between 8-11 and get it done there for a 600baht fee on top of the 1900baht price of the extension.

Here in Bangkok at the Cham Churi Square One Stop Service Center for BOI (and other companies) they have both an immigration counter and a dept of labor counter. They do extensions and work permits at the same time.

Plus some BOI company employees get 2 year extensions of stays now as well.

Work Permit and same time Visa, sounds as using a connected database system with BOI, Immigration and Labor Office.
