TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai government is introducing an online visa application system for foreign investors in BOI-promoted businesses. This initiative, set to be piloted in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, allows applicants to simultaneously apply for their visa and work permit, with a nationwide rollout planned for next year. This development marks a modernization of the visa and work permit process, facilitating easier access for expatriates and investors in Thailand.
Here in Bangkok at the Cham Churi Square One Stop Service Center for BOI (and other companies) they have both an immigration counter and a dept of labor counter. They do extensions and work permits at the same time.
Plus some BOI company employees get 2 year extensions of stays now as well.
