POSITIVE TEST FOR COVID.

a Lot of questions are there when people get a positive test result of a Covid test.

You need to get in touch with a medical service in your area.

You have to check your Admitted until or permitted up to date in your passport.

IN CASE you have to stay longer in Thailand due to quarantine or other medical reasons, you need to notify the medical staff.

They can make a letter and visit on your behalf the Immigration Office with your passport and the fee to apply for an Extension of Stay based on medical reasons.

BE AWARE: This has to be done BEFORE you go on overstay, when you are on overstay there is nothing that can be done to avoid fines and depending on time a blacklist.

Take care of your health and passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you test positive for COVID-19 while in Thailand, it is essential to consult a medical service in your area. Check the expiration date on your visa stamp in your passport. If you need to stay longer due to quarantine or medical reasons, inform your medical staff, who can assist you in obtaining a letter to submit to the Immigration Office for an Extension of Stay. Be cautious to complete this process before overstaying your visa to avoid fines and potential blacklisting.

My 30 day extension is due to end today but I am still self isolating due testing positive for Covid. Is there any way of getting a 7 day extension without going into the office myself? I was due to fly out today but obviously this changed. From what I can see I'll just have to explain my situation and accept the fine when I l leave but any way around that would be better.

I didn't go to the hospital or anything so they aren't an option to help as I've read with previous cases.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Covid is no reason for overstay, people are staying over 2 years inside Thailand using the special Extension of Stay based on unable to travel. IF people follow the rules to inform a medical service after being tested positive, they will get help.

NO, self isolation is your choice.

You need to be in touch with a medical service, they are the only ones who can help you.

If you make it to the airport, you will get a stamp in your passport about the overstay, you will have to pay the fine, it will be registered in the database.

There is no reason or excuse to go into overstay and when you do, you face the consequenses.

Example overstay stamp:

Sorry just one more thing, I'll actually only be overstaying 6 days with my new flights. So is it reasonable to assume I can pay 3000 baht (6daysx500baht) overstay fine, and just try to explain my situation in the hope of not getting anything on my record? Appreciate all your help on this group.
