Hello members and new members.

This page is for Thai Visa advice.

If you start your question with:

This is not Thai Visa related, don't bother to even post it.

I will delete it.

Travel advice to get to Thai Consulate, sight seeing tours during the day waiting for your passport to return, hotels, breakfasts etc etc are not Thai Visa related.

Taking domestic flights or International flights are not Thai Visa related.

If you have a question PLEASE add your locations, using Immigration Office differs in every region. Without knowing where you are, we can not give the advice to you.

The amount of members is growing, so we need to keep a line to be able to answer real visa questions.

If you like to chat or get travel advice there are many Facebook pages and other programs available.

Please keep this page to the purpose of Visa Advice,

Thanks to all for your contributions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post emphasizes that the primary focus of the Thai Visa advice page is to provide information related specifically to Thai visa issues. It states that non-visa related topics such as travel to consulates, hotel recommendations, and domestic or international flights will be deleted. Members are encouraged to specify their locations when asking visa-related questions, as immigration policies can vary by region. The discussion also includes comments that highlight common misunderstandings among expats and travelers regarding visa advice, as well as the importance of adhering to legal procedures when dealing with immigration matters in Thailand.

To clarify, are TM30 or resident certificate questions allowed as they're not visa related? Thanks!

We allow them but we need a location, no location we will close

Considering the number of other subjects that often get asked about - perhaps some enterprising person could create a group "GETTING ALONG IN THAILAND"... transportation - how to travel locally or across country or to neighbor countries, how to get married, how to get a driver license, etc., etc., etc.

@David ******
- oh I know about Thai Visa dot com and basically agree with your description.. I was thinking of a FB Group with a limited scope as described without the vitriol
Jonn *********
@Joe **********
There is already an all encompassing site does this.

And daily Thai news, where they buried the bodies, where the BIB are scamming you with cash fines.

Plus you get free serves of vitriolic attacks from certain members.

And reminded that it's not a site for tea and sympathy.

Similar name too.

But this is the place for informative thai visa information..

@Rob***
, I call it the #amazingfaranginthailand mentality.

@Da***
sadly many foreigners forget to use common sense when living here and believe "anything goes" since they got away with it.

@Rob***
and I have been back-and-forth with a couple of know-it-all, beat-the-system types, concerning WPs and what is, and is NOT Thai law.

If you subscribe to the school of thought that says "If I have gotten away with it (whatever "it" is) thus far, regardless of legality, then my experience should be the basis for offering advice", look out. Thai visa advice offers people advice rooted in fact, and working within the framework of Thai law, based on the experience and knowledge of guys who have lived here for years. Thanks!

Tony Osborne Correct, but some guys are thinking it is snap until neighbors and relatives - even the landlord is interviewed... When a sham is suspected the I/Os keep asking for more and more info, documents and interviews.

Plus the Hammer - the lady holds a blackmail knife over his head.
Tony *********
Better to have a long relationship.

Photos over the years together.

And visa's for each other's country.

There's no sham in that.
Robert ********
Funny when some foreigners believe they can out smart Immigration...

I talked a friend out of getting married as he just wanted a visa... I painted the whole picture - not what a person should do just to get a visa... your life is not your own when a sham marriage is suspected in Thailand

Cupid is working OT?
Joe ***********
Lot of interest in marriage and marriage visas lately !. I wonder why? Hahahaha
Robert ********
Many are too lazy and seeking the easy and cheap way to stay long term.
Joe ***********
Many short to long stay travelers (one year or so), don't self-identify as Expats
Robert ********
There are already several Thai Expat groups covering those topics, but some members don't understand the difference between Thai Visa Advice and Thai Expat Advice.

I put this comment in the correct thread this time. Not suggesting current mods admins do this
Tullio *******
This page is live encyclopedia and did save my life a couple of times! And not necessarily by asking questions but by searching for info on the page! The Admins do an incredible job and for free! Thanks guys
Robert ********
Try using the "Search Function" before asking your question...
Dario **********
Yep. Analogous to FAQ, for the most part.

Byzantine visas were quite straightforward as long as you carved the stone tablet carefully.
Dario **********
Guilty as charged, but that was a legitimate emergency. I understand
@Rob***

@T**
and all the members for the information and anecdotes which have helped me with the often Byzantine visa processes.

I remember that fellow and his strange off-topic posts...
