Ok, so as its says "and more" in the name of the group here's one that never been asked I'm sure 😁 i have 4,113.75฿ in coins which I have collected over a year, in the UK I would take it to a coinstar machine at my local supermarket it would take 10% for cashing it up. Now I'm pretty sure they don't have these in Thailand so my question is do you think the bank will take them? 🤔 😀 Now don't come at me guys just thought it would break up the monotony of visa questions 👍😁🤣
Answer summary
The inquiry revolves around if banks in Thailand will accept a large amount of coins (4,113.75฿) for exchange to cash. Responses indicate that banks generally do accept coins but may require them to be bagged in amounts of 100 baht. Additionally, many 7-Elevens and local shops are also willing to accept small denominations of coins.

I take then to a local vendor.. I let them count it and give me the cash. I drop it off and the next day or two they give me the money. I imagine they take some? I think they're happy to have the coins

They do have the machines here in Thailand. Well they do im Bangkok for example theres 1 just by asok bts about 10 feet from super rich if you walk away from terminal 21.

Im also told that banks and 711 will take, not sure how happy some of the 711 will be though

I give mine away, but also use them in the water machine. I am hoping a supermarket might install a change machine. In the uk around 10% goes to charity. And you get paper cash. The supermarket then has the change they need in the machine. So it’s a win win win for everyone.

I am not sure where you are in Thailand but there are machines that take these coins and charge 10%. You can have the money applied to a number of cards- a Rabbit card, for example. You will often see these machines in busier BTS stations In Bangkok. Otherwise, there are many great suggestions posted here.

My 8-year-old daughter collected coins for 2 years. She had almost 3,000 baht. She counted them carefully and put them in plastic bags. I took her to our bank, Krueng Thai, to deposit into her account (joint acct with me) and the wretched toad behind the counter said he'd have to put them into the coin counter to verify. Ok, no problem. He then deducted 10% of her total for that 20 second fleece. Absolutely disgraceful. We no longer bank there.

I went to the bank and exchanged the coin. Need to do it in the early morning. Just say "laek rian" (แลกเหรียญ). They will count in front of you. But you should have the bank account at the place you exchanged. I got 2000 baht that time

Otherwise, for me, it will be

10 baht - washing machine

1 baht - water filling machine

2 baht - very tricky, go around shop

5 baht - I often bring this to a small shop, they love these coins
Arne *****
Arne *****
Go to a very fancy restaurant, order 1 steak, pay.

- seriously though, the mom and pop shop might actually be happy to take it from you but they will count it 3 times over. or just start using coins for < 100 thb transactions and it will all be gone in no time.

Firstly, when you were in the UK you wasted money paying 10% to have them "cashed up"!

You should have just taken them in batches to a supermarket and fed them in the supermarket self service check outs.

In Thailand you just put some in your pocket when you go out and use in 7-11 etc.

Monk Ordination Procession (Buat Nark): Before a man enters the monkhood, he parades to the temple. During this procession, the Nark (novice) or their family throws coins (often wrapped in colored paper) to the crowd. This symbolizes the renunciation of material wealth and worldly possessions.
